Minh Tuan
After heavy rain, The red colour on one of my RGB strings shorted out. Every time i try to connect that to power it, the wire sparks and heats up. I assume it also shorted out the red channel on my controller and now it wont even turn on at all. I'm assuming the triac is shot?
Minh Tuan
Just need to confirm if its the triac or not, all the other channels work fine. So i can desolder a triac off a spare channel on another controller and replace it
k6ccc
Very likely correct except on a DC controller card it's a MOSFET, NOT a Triac. Can't use a Triac from an AC controller. Make sure you fix the shorted string BEFORE replacing the MOSFET and hooking everything back up.
