mbelofski
Can you use a different USB to ethernet adapter other than the one that came with the starter kit. If so i have purchased a USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit ethernet adapter. Will that work? I am finally making some progress with my Megatree and its killing me to wait until the LOR adapter comes in. PhilMassey
No, No, No. You cannot use an Ethernet switch with LOR's RS 485 protocol. Ethernet and RD 485 should never be mixed. You will likely let the magic smoke escape if you do.

k6ccc
One of my standard recommendations is to ALWAYS use a different color cable for LOR network vs LAN. In my case, my LOR network uses purple cable, my normal home LAN uses blue cable, and my E1.31 LAN uses green cable. Makes it easy to tell what network it is.
