Only if you hack them and bypass the circuitry inside.

Hmm doesn't sound like me I guess. haha Can't argue the price though.

Hey One more question... I want to tape these lights to my house for year round.  Any suggestion on the best tape?  My pitch on my roof is really high!

I used a staple gun to mount mine to wood trim. Gotta be careful though. The staples were just wide enough to not puncture or damage the strips. And yep, they stayed there year round. The weather will eventually destroy them over a few years if in direct sunlight.

I hacked 30ea 10w RGB floods 4 or 5 years ago. Still going strong.

Is it complicated?

Depends on the flood. There are different variations. Resistors will have to be a part of it too, again depending on the type of flood.

Here is a link from a few years ago. VERY helpful for those that want to hack RGB floods.

Excellent, I will read up on it.

And because you are so helpful (no good deed goes un-punished :))  Say I want to run 16 Floods (10watt) off of 1 CMD card, is that reasonable? Possible?  IE I pair 2 per.

Yep, I run 15ea off my 16 channel DC controllers just fine.

Will they last in the sun for a while?

Yes.  Some of mine have been there for about five years.  The silicon tube dulls somewhat, but you never notice it when they are lit.

When you do, there is a link to my photobucket with pics during the hack.

Here is a pic of my DC controllers for my mega tree tower RGB floods.

Each color red, green & blue are on their own controller. Then each color for each flood has it's own channel. It's like a oversized pixel strip, in a round-about way. :)

My 15 RGB floods for my arch are wired the same way.

Again, like a oversized pixel arch in a round-about way. :)

WAIT WHAT?

Ok My mind may be blowing here, but are you using Cat 5 to the 10w Lights?  I am trying to figure out how ot hack as I speak... and see if I can find some cheap RBGs on AliExpress.  If I can figure this out in the next hr or so, I will buy 3 CMDs

I am sorry, this is my first time with RBG, and well... I don't have them yet.  So please excuse my ignorance.

Read the link I sent. You'll get a better understanding of my hack. And yes, it's Cat 5 cable. :)

And I purchase my RGB floods from ebay. Really cheap!!!

No problem what so ever.

Yep, I'm using 3 CMB-16 controllers for each the mega tree tower and mega arch. They didn't have the 24s yet at the time.

So you still believe I can run 16 Floods off of 1 24 card? (2 per)

And man... CAT 5... I LOVE IT!!  Making my life seem so easy.  It works fine?

You'll need 48 channels to run 16 floods so you'll need two of them.

And the Cat 5 works like a dream and I make my own lengths too. :)

Hypothetically, Lets say.  I have 1 24Channel card.  And I hooked 2 (using cat 5 man I love that) to the 1 4 channel.... would it not light 2 (granted same colour and etc would be on it).  Or is there too much of a power draw on the 4 Channel to run 2 10Watt?  Perhaps have a bigger power supply working them (160 watt draw I will have a 360watt) ?? (I have a casual at best relationship with electricity... )

I will tell you what i am trying to do... I have a vast length of woods and drive way... and I want to have lights all along it... 16 will be perfect, 8 is just awkward.  If I can't do it with RBG I will get the 16 plug... but then I have to buy extension cords etc if I use that.  It is on sale for $205... the CMD is $95.  I buy 160 of Lights (10 watt) it is only a difference of $50.. and I don't need extension cords, light bulbs, and lights, and I can control colours... I may just go with

Keep in mind, if you are wanting to run an RGB device and using the CMB 16 or 24, you will need three channels per device to use all three colors unless you just want to run one color.

Fair deal... however I have 8 X R 8 X B 8 x G devices that can hook too.  So if I hook 2 devices per R, per B, per G (2 per +) times those 8 channels...

Am I making sense... I guess the bigger question does this card have enough power to push out a 20watt as it will be 2x10watt.  ??

Each side can handle 30 amps and there is a 4 amp limit per channel.
