Deployed to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia. Literally 2 weeks out of AIT. November of '90 to March '91. I've got some pretty CRAZY memories of things that went down while stationed there.

Almost my entire enlistment, AIT through ETS, was at Ft. Sam Houston.  I spent three days TDY up there in '73 chasing tanks around while making noise-level measurements.  The food there was good, but everything else pretty much sucked.  Although it was fun riding in a tank.  Once anyway.

My hat's off to all you 'real' soldiers who actually had people shooting more than their mouth off at you.

Trust me, Hood did not get much better from m73' to 89'. I loved it went i went to Sam Houston. It was like going from driving a pinto to driving a BMW.

Pershing for me but got to play around with Patriot for a year.

Army 88-94. MOS: 15E

When we weren't deployed, we used to set up on a former Pershing site in Germany. Of course, on a hill...in the middle of nowhere. :)

“From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”
― William Shakespeare, Henry V

You guys are awesome -  Thanks to you all for your service, thanks for coming home. And thank you Grandpa who was in WW2 and to my Uncle who served in Vietnam, both returned.
