Do I need a PE preview with the old SE channels

Hi guys, Quick question: do I have to need to add props in the PE preview for channels will not be in the show if I want to use their sequence data? I have seen that you can import sequence information in PE but it only wants to bring information for props I have defined in it.   I removed all of my traditional LED props and added several pixel props. I would like to bring the traditional channels in so that I can make the new props do similar actions and use the timing placements.  Also may purchase a few sequences and wondering how those would need to be imported in PE.
