Hestand Posted November 23, 2016 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Well today I realized I messed up. Controller comes in Wednesday (nov 30) and I didn't not order a dongle. Now for reference sake would the official USB to rs485 work the same as im trying to use vixen lights with this so would I need the official dongle to evidently run in DMx mode. If anyone can be of assistance shoot an email at zachhestand@gmail.com or (979)4799451 some solid good assistance would be greatly appreciate and will recognize any way I can in my show. Orville Posted November 29, 2016 Share Posted November 29, 2016 You need one of the LOR 485x dongles and I think the IDMX1000 one if using DMX mode. I'm pretty sure LOR is not something you can just use any RS485 adapter with, I do think it needs to be specific, so I don't believe that will work and may actually cause damage to your controllers. If I'm in error, I hope someone{preferably an LOR employee} with a bit more experience with these dongles will chime in on the details.
