Leaping Arches (no music needed)

So, new to the automation world with lights.  I am building leaping arches.  I am not going to set them to music, just want them to leap.  Do I still need to hook them up to the computer with the software?

It's going to depend on a few things.

What type of controller are you using? If you are using the 1602 Showtime series, then you could load a stand-alone (animation only) sequence into the board, and have it run the arches. If you have a CTB16PC version, then you would need to have a mini-director, director, or computer to run the lights for you.
