Sequence FTP

Those using a browser... use this: ftp://sequence:lightorama@ftp.mmc.edu

It should get you in without having to type in the username and password. You will not be able to upload any sequences with a browser. I recommend getting the FTP Client.

It's all drag and drop at that point.

Disregard my PM about the FTP, got it from this thread, will install it and see how it goes.  Using latest version of FF since I just updated it a couple days of this message.

Your DNS is resolving correctly. I also see you are connecting on port 21 which is correct. Are you using a browser or client?

I am guessing you have port 21 opened on your router/firewall.

=====================================================================================================

I read up a little and saw you are using the client.

You should not have to put in the port as it defaults to 21.

What IP are you coming from? I will check the logs to see if you are even getting to me.

You are not even getting to me. Just for giggles see if you can hit this webpage.

http://www.mmc.edu/

Another thing we can check... Open a command prompt and type in "tracert ftp.mmc.edu" without the quotes

Post what it shows please.

I wonder if your Inet provider is blocking my IP range. Those are public IP's and you should have problems getting to them.

That's your internal IP. What is your external?

Go to google and type in what is my ip... it will show you the public IP.

Once i have that i can check my IDS's and make sure your IP is not being blocked on my end.

the 192.168.0.x address is internal and not routable via the net. This is what your home will use as many homes do. If it was routable... the net would not work because of duplicate addresses.

But the internet world sees a totally different address. Which is routable and that allows you to go places on the web. This is what I need and it should be IPv4 as well.
