trkeenan
My laptop does not have internet protocol 4, it has version 6. Will that work or do I need to have version 4? I tried to find a download for 4 but can't seem to find one I am trying to use the LOR and connect to a Sandevice using E1.31 Thanks in advance for the help Tim
Mr. P
Just to make this very simple, IPv4 has four octets and IPv6 has 16 octets, IPv6 is backwards compatible by tunneling the IPv4 addresses into the last four octets of the IPv6 address. example:IPv4 - 255.255.255.255IPv6 - 00000000.00000000.00000000.00000000.00000000.00000000.255.255.255.255 Your computer should support both, if you go into your LAN properties (advanced) there should be a IPv4 box just check the box. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
LOR Staff
You are correct. If IPv4 is not enabled on your adapter, please enable it in Windows.
