Frame rate on migration AVI's

Recommended Posts

Is anyone noticing a slightly more jerky appearance when playing back completely migrated sequences on actual lights.

Its very slight but is less smooth than the original sequence which looks fine.

I wonder if it could be the frame rate of the conversion AVI files which if you look at them in Mediainfo or Pinnacle Studio read as being 20 fps.

20 fps is a frame every 50 ms, which to me, sounds a bit coarse. Thoughts?

The Pixel Editor is based on a 50ms frame rate. The 20 fps figure for the avi files is correct. I would argue that the current design results in a good balance between the amount of processing that must be done to compute the effects and send the data to the controllers versus what the audience sees. But it is somewhat subjective (not completely subjective because there *are* hardware limits).

So I guess what I don't understand is, now we have the Visualizer working well at 60 odd fps and used to dip down into the 30 fps area with lots of lag etc, but an editor which is optimized for only 20 fps.
