General S4 Question

Recommended Posts

In a post that Dan made several months back, I think he mentioned that the new version of LOR would be 64 bit and capable of using the multiple core processors.  Does anyone know if this carried forward into S4?

I think not. Believe Its 32 bit from some of the other discussions and the fact that it installs into the (x86) programs folder in Windows. Don't Know if it can utilize multiple cores or not.

I am (for test) running it on a 32 bit XP computer. I'm also running it on a 64 bit Windows computer.

The code is 32 bit for now but we are looking into compiling the Pixel Editor 64 bit... However The pixel editor uses multiple cores. In addition we have split a lot of work out of the programs that are running the lights (like the sequence eidtor or pixel editor or monitor), and moved it to the comm listener and they run in multiple cores helping to spread the load.
