Crap cell phone video but I had fun for my first year. On the Xmas one after the intro skip to about 3:35 mins in where it starts to be a little more action.

I'd like to add the talking trees next year if anyone would care to share how they are making them.

looks great, I used some dumb rgb this year also and it looks good, but had several pixel failure.  did you have any failed pixels and where did you purchase your strips?

Awesome!  I'd like to know where you purchased your strips as well.  What type of dumb RGB controller are you running?  DMX or LOR?

Thanks guys!  Looking forward as to what to add next year.

I used Ray Wu's strips. Only about 150 hours on them.I don't see any failures yet.

New CMB24D I think the controller was, LOR.

Just pulled my lights down this past weekend and can't stop thinking about next year :D

I also want to integrate some dumb RGB next year using the CMB24D.

Can I use these LED strips?

Is this a good power supply?

With 60 LEDs per meter how many meters can I power before I exceed the specs for the power supply or a specific port of the controller?  Should I find a strip that uses 30 LEDs per meter?

For this year I only plan to go around four windows and the front door.

  • 2 weeks later...

The carols without words I got from Amazon.  The album name is "Ameritz Karaoke Party - Christmas Carols".  All the songs for the singing trees also came from Amazon.

Where did you get your music? I like the mixing and changing it up.

I snitched the audio from another you tube video and inserted my own clips with newer music.

David, can you please tell me where you got the talking trees from? And what controller do I need to make them work?

The talking trees came from Holiday Coro. They are made out of corrugated plastic board. He sells them as one or a set of four. You need to build your own frame and supply the lights. Each tree uses 16 channels. I use LOR controllers. If your familiar with Holiday Coro he supplies instructions for the trees.

For My trees I built 2' x 4' frames out of pvc pipe, covered with chicken wire and wire tied 3 together. (They easily fold into 3rd's for storage)

Then wire tied rope light to make the outline and mouth/ eye shapes.

6' tall x 4' wide sound big, but I looking back, I wouldn't go any smaller.
