most of  us that use them love them.  make sure the audio on your computer is at 25% and the output on the transmitter is at 75% for best results.  I highly recommend it, had a whole house and it sucked for me but this was the bomb.

I would go with an EDM, but that model that you refer to can be purchased on EBAY cheaper, they all come from China anyway.

I use edm  its a 1 watt transmitter I have to lower the antenna a little so the lil black cars wont show up lol  but make sure you are not bleeding over a already established radio station

they have a link on edm you can go to that shows all the radio station numbers in your area   I didn't believe how many there were

You say that you have to lower the antenna a little. Is this one of those telescoping antennas? If that is what you mean by that comment. You do realize that you can blow out the finial amplifier transistor if you de-tune the output. That creates hi SWR and this will cause the finial transistor to heat up and burn its self out. Might get by with that with the 100 mW transmitters. But the 1 W and higher you are taking a gamble with damaging your transmitter. Its great that you are trying to keep everyone happy and only using enough power to do the job with out blasting across town.

Yes, it has. See: http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/27256-best-fm-transmitter-pre-built/

And if you need more information about what others are doing, here's about 40 links from inside the LOR forum: http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl.t10.6/search/web?qsi=1&qall=fm%20transmitter&qdomainf=Include&qdomain=forums.lightorama.com&fcoid=4&fcop=results-bottom&fpid=2&timestamp=1376886602591

I would just use a 50-ohm-10db attenuator inline with the antenna, goes between antenna output and the antenna.  It will decrease the range and power of the transmitter output and won't cause any damage to your final transistors, as well as keep the black limo's with the men  in black from showing up.    Use one on my Mobile Black Box Eclipse and it runs pretty much 24/7 since I use it to play music I like on a personal radio while I work around the yard and house.     Attenuator has been working great for me for over 3 years now.

If I recall this is the one I use on my MBB Eclipse-4000:

Are you sure it's an EDM? None of the transmitters listed on their web site are more than 100mW, and they all can be switched or adjusted to 10mW or lower.

both of the unit you listed use the same base unit just different looks but the model numbers are the same. Take Earle's advice and get it off Ebay. that is where I got mine and it works great with the little antenna that comes with it. this model also has a high and low output if you read the manual. on high in my area the transmitter go about 1/10th of a mile with perfect clarity, and another 1/10 with static. I have not done a range test with it on low yet. the frequency bleed over seems to be fine I have another radio station at .2 above my home station and it does not bleed over or cause interference for me. I tested it on my car radio and a house radio. if you put it on high and need more range for some reason you can add another antenna pretty easily just like the first link you put up. if even on low for some reason it is putting out too much power try changing where you put it (lower and further away from road). If that does not work take Orville advice and put an attennuator on it.  Hope this helps.
