6 Foot Trees

I'm putting 7 six foot trees in my display this year. I stripped off the old incandescent bulbs, painted the metal trees green then added green, red and white LEDs. 770 each for a total of 2,300 lights per tree. This is the first tree. I still have 6 more to light. I've already worn a hole in my thumb from the zip ties.

Last year I did 9 six foot trees that are very similar to yours but I used very few zip ties and they held up fine to wind, rain, snow and ice. Instead of zips I would "split" the wires (there are two or three runnig between each light)and put them over the tips of the branchs. As long as the strings can not slip down the tree you should be fine.

Goodness, last year I had a 10-12' deciduous tree in my yard packed with lights wrapped around the trunk and branches. I had about 2400 lights on it, 1600 blue and 800 cool white---- and that thing was packed. I can't imagine about the same number of lights in a 6 foot much more compact tree. And 7 of them to boot!

Over 16,000 lights in those 7 trees alone!

Are you gonna hand out sunglasses??

Can you take a picture of it lit up for us???

Sure, Here's a couple for you. I'm looking forward to seeing the video of these in action.

we've owned ND the last several years, so very possibly a 4-0 start...for reference, watch this clip:

http://detroit.sbnation.com/2010/9/19/1697234/michigan-state-fake-field-goal-video-notre-dame-overtime

Likely an 8-9 win season...we'll make it 4 in a row over UM...

And the Huskies..BCS-bound?..smiley-laughing001.gif

(ok, done correcting the links..no more edits)

That was last year...ND will be tough this year...

Huskies won't be BCS bound..but should have a winning season...

AND beat up on the Cougs...
