  1. Don't know. I'll get in touch with Dennis and see if he's on the forums.
  2. New member of the East Tennessee group from Franklin is supposed to come to the Mini next week.

  5. You're most welcome. I love me some Superstar for sequencing. Always happy to help someone using the program.
  6. I put in the post above but here it is again by itself In the pop-up box for any of the effects, there are 2 radio buttons/circles. One says "No Clip" and the other says "Manual Clip" Select Manual Clip. Start in the upper left corner of one of your trees, Hold the shift key and click and drag to the lower right corner of the same tree. Now add your effect and see if that works.
  7. Ahh! do you know about Manual Clip and No Clip? In the pop-up box for any of the effects, there are 2 radio buttons/circles. One says "No Clip" and the other says "Manual Clip" Select Manual Clip. Start in the upper left corner of one of your trees, Hold the shift key and click and drag to the lower right corner of the same tree. Now add your effect and see if that works.
  8. I had read through the whole thread, but never even thought to look at "Who" posed the question. I s'pose it was you. Alright, for your last question. If you load up the minis in SS, and click on, say the bottom pixel on each column one at a time, do they show up in the right order, or is one at the opposite end? Ahh! this one's hard to explain. Let me grab a screen cap or do a quick drawing to try to show a visual reply. Be back in a bit.
  9. The problem you're experiencing is that SS thinks it's 2 fixtures (It is) However, because SS was designed originally for a matrix, it has a few nuances. To make your prop work as you need it, Brian explains what needs to be done here: The first set of instructions, if followed, will give you a single line in the grid for the 2 fixtures. The comment has to be formatted exactly like his instructions, ie., superstar matrixlength=20 There is only one space in the string, between superstar and matrix. No spaces anywhere else.
  10. First, do you have a link to the pixels? Second, do they say anything like "Uses WS2811 Protocol" or something like that? I seem to recall seeing something about these awhile back. If memory serves, they use WS2811 and if that;'s the case, then, yes they will work. I could be 100% wrong though, so don't take my reply to heart just yet. Edit: I just found them on Ray's site. It doesn't say although he has controllers for them. the PixCon will run this list of protocols Supports the following pixel protocols (only one type at a time per controller): TLS3001 SM16716 LPD6803 WS2801 WS2811/12/12B/APA104 TM180x MBI6020 INK1003 APA102 Unless this is a clone of one of the above Pixel Protocols, I sort of doubt the PixCon will run them.
  11. When I did mine in PEX, I used one of these per arch and used the 1" coiled PEX. http://store.winterlandinc.com/WL-LA-NL-05--5-Leaping-Arch-Frame-with-No-lights_p_17462.html
  12. Most everybody is using the 60/M. When I ordered my strips last year, I ordered the 30/M because I didn't know it was the other. I'm sure 60 will be fine. A word of warning, if anybody receives the tubing before the pixels, let it sit. Don't start cutting assuming you know the length you need. (This is from experience). Oh, and on the SharkBite PEX, there is a cream color and a white color. Make sure you get the white. The cream doesn't look as nice. I did the upper pixels on my garage last year using the PEX and pixels inserted in a drilled hole, like Jim did his arches.
  13. I tried it with flat nodes in pixel strips from Boscoyo Studios. It looked OK, but the WOW!, was just not there, not like the strips. Lots of hot spots. I even used the 30 LEDs/meter instead of the 60. I thought they blended in very well with my existing props. I believe the 60 LEDs/meter may have been a bit overpowering to the rest of the display. My videos were shot with a mediocre camera, so don't judge the arches by that. I'm hoping the Phantom 3 will clean the videos up this year. If it doesn't, I spent $500 for a toy. A fun toy, but still a toy. If the videos turn out good this year, well, I bought an awesome camera and got a toy too.
  14. Unless they have it hidden on their site, none of these sites showed the Semi-Clear, White piping we use for the arches. The black pipe would not be translucent. I could have overlooked it, I'm sure.
  15. Been wanting something like this for a long time, to be a user speed setting. Awesome Brian. Thank you.
  16. Jeff, drive safely my friend. See you in a couple of weeks. Andy, really interested to see this new Pixel Hat for the Pi B+. This could be something very good for this hobby, ~$45 for a 12 Universe controller? That's pretty awesome my friend. Will you have any extras at the Mini? We may have a couple more new folks coming. I have had a few messages from some Facebook friends, Georgia, Lenoir City, Knoxville, just to name a few. Hopefully all will be able to make it. For all who are coming,, safe travels. Looking forward to seeing old friends and meet some new friends. I'm getting excited about sitting down with a bunch of other lighting nuts and talking about Christmas Lights.
  17. Agreed. That's exactly how I did it. With the move option.
  18. Doug, will this work? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iurm1yui73ie1t9/AAAgBXQkr9GGTK9WkWFZajm5a?dl=0
  19. Just hang tight for a bit. There's a firmware update coming for the 682's that will make them, if memory serves, one universe per output. Let me see if I can find the post. Full thread is here, if you care to read another forum: http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?42646-SanDevices-version-5-firmware-information-thread SanDevices version 5 firmware information thread
  20. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gr8dpung32fpj21/AADyDvYc-Msv2-15RljOsmA-a?dl=0 Try this. I put the original files in folders.
  21. The SE file is the "sup.las". There's not any music, just a few effects. When I get home today, if you like, I'll set up a sequence with music with just the circles.
  22. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gr8dpung32fpj21/AADyDvYc-Msv2-15RljOsmA-a?dl=0 Included in this folder is, Visualizer files, Visualizer Props, Superstar file depicting 3 different ways I do the effects you are trying to accomplish. Also included is the las file of these same effects exported from Superstar. I threw in the SS file for anyone who would like to see how they are built. The first effect is done using morphs. This is the least labor intensive of the 3, but you have to work a bit with the timing to get the desired effect. The second is just a series of scenes. takes a bit longer to create, but the effect can be made as fast or slow as you want. Also, If I want to avoid Channel Collision and change from, say, red to green, (similar to a fill), I use this one. If you take a look at the Frosty video on the website, at 1:23, where it changes from Green to Red to Blue to Green to Red, this is an example of this effect. The third is a series of images. this one is the most time consuming to create because of having to select a single block. you can click, hold and drag, but it's still time consuming. If using a single color, I like this tool best. See if this helps and if you need more, I'll get you a few sequences loaded up.
  23. You can use CCR sequences with DMX Pixels and vice versa. If you get the CCR sequence, there are 7 Macro channels at the end of each 50 pixel String. Those will either need to be deleted, moved or skipped. Otherwise all of the sequences work the same way. If you buy the CCR and you have a visualization of a DMX tree, import your visualization into these sequences and SS will not export the Macro channels.
  24. Oh man. Sorry about being the bearer of bad news. I learned that the hard way too in my first year. I had 4 or 5 different channel configs. Trust me, this will most likely be the last time that happens. "Live and Learn" as you said. Good luck.
