  1. This is for Brian, When double click on an older .sup file to open, when Superstar is not open, it kills the program. (Screen Snip is attached. These are last year's files. It may be that I'm trying to open from Dropbox. However, when I open these from within the LOR folder, they open fine. It may just be that the software is looking for the LOR folder. It did not do this last year when the same procedure was used. It's not a problem, I can open it fine from the SS menu, it's just annoying. Just something to look at for next year. Yes, I'm still using 4.4. I might transfer over to S5 if time allows this year.
  2. Question, S5 related. I will have a minimum of 3 sup files to get into the S5 Sequencer for each 2018 sequence. Copy and paste did not work as expected. Have I missed something? When I create a blank sequence, I import the lms file from the SS export. How do I get the other data in the blank sequence?
  3. Thanks. My P10 Panels are complete except for the enclosure. I used Darrell Pelligrin's, CFOL P10 PiHat. I have one of Ron's for a backup.
  4. My SS is at 160 License. I can actually use SS, but mostly for Tune To info. I was thinking of doing a 2 panel x 2 sides using P5 panels for Tune To info and using the P10 for effects and maybe Video. All but the Tune To info will need to be done in the S5 sequencer though
  5. Will this work? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cduiclqsk4kbvm1/AACZG9mGHkKCsZo1HJe5cW2Wa?dl=0
  6. That's how I was planning on doing it Doug. Sequence in Superstar, Export to SE, then import to S5 Sequencer. Tweak, Save and Run. The P10 panels are going to be where I need either S5 or xLights. You know me though, LOR through and through. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  7. Yeah, that seems to be where I'm going to be stuck. Since my display will change for 2018, either I can't figure out how to convert multiple files in one sequence, or the program just won't do it. Plus, I can't seem to get the effect I want on the ChromaFlake Tree/Pyramid. I will probably stay with S4 and go to the PE to do a few things that I, either can't accomplish in SS or want an element level effect. Jim, when I opened my ChromaFlake Tree/Pyramid in S5 and SS, it didn't look right. Maybe I was doing something wrong, I don't know.
  8. OK Doug, I'm installing S5 on the PCs. I may be giving you a call when we get our displays down. I might even make a road trip down on a Saturday to get some one on one help. We'll need to set something up. I'll have a few questions to start, then try to dig into it.
  9. When I installed 4.3.26, I cannot get the pixel editor to open. Is it still included with 4.3.26? My 2 other machines have 4.3.24 on them and the pixel editor opens just fine. Going to drop back down to .24 on this machine and see if I can open it then. I will report back here either way. Un-installed 4.3.26 and installed 4.3.24. PE will still not open on this machine. Everything else starts opens up fine. Any Ideas?
  10. http://www.shannonclaus.com/light-o-rama-object-creator-loroc/ You can use this little program to make Incan or LED, and RGB Spiral trees. Been using this app for a few years now.
  11. OK the rows are across. Columns are up and down. This is actually my "Row" Visualization. You don't have to do this in the "Real" one. As long as the channels and Universes are exact, The real will play correctly. So you will Import a visualization pair, Row for one and real for the other. I do all of mine vertical when I import. For the elements, I do a vertical matrix but, if it is still the case, Superstar does not support a vertical matrix. The way around it is to, Open the Prop dialogue, delete the prop and then regroup it into another prop using the prop satellite button. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't. You only have to do it once and it's done.
  12. When you open a prop in the visualizer, there is a radio button that is labeled Superstar. Open that and check the box that says "Force Superstar Row/Column" and just tell it where you want it. In the example above, the 2 elements at the top left are as follows Row 1, Column 1 (25 pixels) Row 1, Column 12 (25 pixels) Row 2 column 23 for the next one to the right. (24 pixels) Since these 4 arches only have 24 pixels each, I start them on row 2. This way I can get a morph across all 3 elements and the timing is exact.
  13. This is what Jim is talking about. I try to separate each element and place it on the grid in some sort of sensible order. Once you spend the extra bit of time to place things where you want them, it's done. no need to change it unless you add an item or delete one.
  14. We usually have a projector and screen. I'll pass this along to the other guys so we can start building a list of topics.
  15. Probably 60% of our people use RGB. I'm sure that will be in the topics of discussion. A couple of us do Superstar, so we can help there. Yes, Papagayo would be a nice topic.
  16. Tennessee Spring Mini All are invited, not just the folks from TN. WHEN: Saturday, March 25, 2017 WHERE: Cleveland, TN (Just north of Chattanooga off of I-75) 3787 Blue Springs Road in Cleveland, TN TIME: TBD (typically 9 am – 4 pm) We’ll take up $$ for lunch, usually pizza. We're not sure what we will talk about yet, so, if there's anything you'd like to talk about, post about it here and we'll put it on the list. Controllers, software, networking, etc.
  17. Ralph, check with Matt at Rainy Oregon Christmas. He designed several elements in aluminum and a Mega tree was one of the designs. Also here; http://www.christmas-leds.com/productinfo_v3.aspx?productid=4SECTREE and here; http://store.3glightingcreations.com/products/4-Section-Trees.html also; http://store.3glightingcreations.com/mega-tree-parts/ Don't forget Darrell at Christmas Light show. With all of these vendors and their products, you should be able to easily create a tree frame.
  18. Is there any plans to incorporate Smooth effects and use the visualizer (VisEffect) instead of the grid? Or, am I the first to request it? Could make some really cool, Whole display effects if it was possible. I guess this would be a request also.
  19. Pixel arches are a lot less expensive to create. Plus you're not tied down to just a few colors, There are millions, technically, you can use with RGB. In reality you'll only use about 10 or 12 colors.
  20. After extensive testing last year, I discovered the culprit. It's not the controllers, it's LEDs, particularly RGB LEDs. I unplugged one controller after another and nothing. When I unplugged the last one, Success. I ended up using a timer to turn on the power supplies 30 minutes prior to show-time and 30 minutes after, they turned off. Only problem I had was during showtime when everything was powered on. I read afterwards not to use a LED bulb in the garage door motor either.
  21. The way I addressed this issue, was to use nodes zip tied to PVC. Too much can go wrong with strips. I've spent months on projects and just knew I had them water resistant enough. 2 weeks after putting them on the gutters, I had to replace them again, with nodes. Just sayin'.
  22. Heard a lot of bad things with these connectors. Take a 6 or 8 inch piece of 3 or 4 conductor wire, depending on your pixels and loop it into a 90°. Then, silicone it with GE Silicone II.
  23. Tomorrow's the day. See you all in the morning.
