  1. Quick question. In my brilliance, in cleaning up Halloween, I put my USB adapter in a place I'd never lose it. Problem is, I can't remember where that place is. Is there anything at Radio Shack that would work as a quick fix or is the adapter specific to LOR? No problem ordering a new one, but if I wanted to test sequences this weekend, I'm SOL. Thanks.
  2. Obviously, lots of other concerns for people in the path of the storm that are more important than Halloween displays, but watching the the forecasts for next week with wind gusts over 50 mph possible on Tuesday in my area probably means collapsing a lot of prior work this weekend. I like to think my stuff is pretty stable, but not hurricane proof. Though it would be cool to see a true flying crank ghost.
  3. @dollarchip - yes, the orange poles out front are just 4' PVC wrapped with four 1' sections of mini-lights. Each similar section plugs into one channel to conserve overall channels, so I use a total of five channels for those posts including the Skull Heads on top of each pole.
  4. It's a recently remastered Def Leppard recording for some movie. Am pretty satisfied with the faces, but want to break up the VU Meter Equalizer feel in some sections. The are two 20' arches that haven't been brought into play.
  5. I just rolled out the majority of my Halloween hardware and working on finishing my Pour Some Sugar display. I need to sequence: - 8 Channel Cylon Flat Arch - 8 Channel Traditional Arch #1 - 8 Channel Traditional Arch #2 - 9 Channel Grave display The show is a bit busy at the moment and I want to make it more subtle, but need all the pieces beforehand. Happy to share my mouth movements for any quick and dirty enhancements if any one has worked on this song,

  7. Thanks for the suggestions. @Orville...I went with a modification of your suggestion after thinking about it a bit. Still undecided about the large firestick, but I'm adding shorter "matchsticks" as part of cemetery fencing with the glowing skulls as toppers. The C7 didn't seem like it would pack enough punch through the plastic of the skull, so I went with a cheap standard bulb socket and a decorative candle bulb. Definitely has a pop. We'll see how it stands up in stress/weather testing. The glow when the light goes out is a nice added effect. Low quality video from the test is linked here...have to turn the volume up: http://youtu.be/9J335oW6Ouk
  8. Looking for suggestion on something to top a 10' firestick that will be part of a Halloween display. Stars are great for Christmas, but looking for something different. Not having any inspiration for something new. Spiderweb? Not constrained by channels needed or weight/wind concerns (will be able to anchor to higher points).
  9. I made the big mistake of purchasing a couple used controllers this summer on a whim. Four faces, three arches, and 600 feet of rope light later, I'm in desperate need of one to three additional controllers (residential, 16-48 channels) for Halloween to get the most out of what I've built. I've got three controllers on order, but some unexpected job travel has come up the week after next, so they may not arrive in time for me to install them. If anyone in the DC or Richmond area has any controllers they would let me borrow/rent/buy for a few weeks, that would be awesome. I'll gladly pick them up. Could do shipping as well, but hoping there is a local solution. Since I'll get divorced over this hobby, I should go out in style right?
