  1. Amazing work and must be nice to have such deep pockets!! http://youtu.be/vdOGTHy-4ls
  2. No, these are the plastic boxs, the kit is what I purchased and built. I had this in my show last year and it did not have any issues but a bad triac as one channel stays on at about 5% and I never got around to replacing that yet. I will have to check the board to see if maybe a solder joint is broken or maybe bridged...but I would not think it would cause what I am experiencing but you never know right.
  3. Yes they are all LEDs. The one thing I did notice tonight was that if I moved the controller or shook it slightly it would trigger the flickering immediately every time
  4. Sorry for the double post, Seems the forum police here don't like when you post something in another RELATED thread to see if you can get a response...EXXcuuuuse me!
  5. all the channels flicker when not in use. This controller is only a year old, when no sequences are being played all channels flicker randomly and not all the time, its very sporadic. I removed the network cable and it still was doing this, so its nothing related to the network. Also I noticed that the cover on the box of this unit seemed warm to the touch which to me means something is over heating on this board? Any ideas? When sequences are being played and during the shows there are no issues, no flickering in between songs, just when its not being used and is in standby mode does this happen..

  7. George that was well done I personally was stuck on the face, loved the effects you did throughout that song, made it tolerable! thanks for sharing
  8. Ok that will work just as well then. Thanks for the response Kevin.
  9. So then the seq itself is locked down, and the only way to edit it would be to use the original file before it was protected. So if I wanted to protect my work on a business level, I would protect the seq but just keep the original file for future editing for that client if it required/requested it?
  10. I know there is a way to protect a sequence but you can't just unprotect it to edit it, is there a way to password protect them? [Admin Edit: Changed can to can't.]
  11. HAHA an old member from here said the same exact thing! But oh man, it was just released today on all of COX media and Clear*channel... and here we are listed as the number 2 (BEHIND BUSCH GARDANS! WOW) attraction to come see!! WOW....what is in store for me??? Is this going to present opportunities for me do you think? http://batchgeo.com/map/8d5440f75de931b81c1fcac934b392f5 We are listed as B
  12. Yes of course. Not only backed up on my home computer but also backed up to the company's Server which gets backed up to tape
  13. Oh, and the owner was talking to me yesterday about next year...he wants me to build him two 30 foot mega trees!! and add another 60,000 lights! Oh and he mentioned that he wants to go MOBILE!! as in a float!! WTF did I get myself into!!
  14. Thanks all for the kind comments. Still not out of the rough yet. The display is set to go off starting Friday at 6pm and I will have to remote into the machine to make sure it kicks off...I hope I do not have to come into the office this weekend! But....the event is going to be HUGE! They dropped well over 40k just in marketing this alone...And the event is a great thing the owner is doing for sure, I am curious to see how many inquiry's come in about how the lights were done, and possible doors opening for doing work for others...No idea what to expect here...but I will post more videos once I get some more. Here is the Public Announcement of the event..and If you are local...all the radio stations and websites will be announcing it as well...(cox and clear channel, FOX, ABC) gulp!! I don't think there has gone a day that I didn't change something in the seq because it looked off, or something... http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/11/prweb11351491.htm Have a wonderful Thanksgiving all!!

  17. Well I know I have been non active on here for a bit. Mostly due to the RL crap I told a bunch of you about but then topping it off taking on this project. Beyond overwhelming and stressed out...been working on the sequences for this since I posted it pretty much...well last night was the 1st test run...the CEO, CIO and other directors were outside to watch it...needless to say I was beyond nervous....but I think it came out great! They all loved it. It took me a little over a week to set up everything, and that was with the help of 2 others. One was on a lift hanging the lights for the windows, another on the ground wrapping the pillars, all of us wrapped the trees and I was on the roof making over 9000 feet of extension cords...This video shows only 2 sides, but there is a 3rd side also, not only that but a carport area that I did also...omg I can breath now! Well here is the video of last nights test...comments are always appreciated and actually I would like to know what you all think...esp. being that this is my 1st commercial job at this scale... over 60,000 lights. http://youtu.be/RzZfqilaEQQ
  18. Looks like your 2010-2011 house was used in this video shoot. A lot of things in RL changed for me and not to drag it out, but I got divorced and gave the house to my x. So I am in an Apt now but promised my kids I would do something...well ABC heard about it and came out. It just aired tonight nationally. Here's the link to the story and videos. Hope you are doing well ciao, I lost your email otherwise I would have just sent it there but at the same time figured the community here would get a kick outa this also. http://www.thelistshow.tv/the-list/national/halloween-is-a-7-billion-a-year-industry Todd
  19. I was planning on using a Server here at work that I am retiring to run the host off off and VM from there. I am running some tests and seeing how well things work. Reason I like this idea is that I can have a VMTest, Prod, etc.. I can watch a live show with prod, use the test to tweak things and then save it as a template and within 20min have a new VM up and running with all the bells an whistles ready to go...good to know if i have a failure on a machine i can spin another one up with little to no effort. . THe main thing is to make sure that the program shows are on the same datastore as the host server. I don't see it being an issue but one never knows...
  20. Can the LOR software be ran not only for testing but for live shows through VMWare? (virtual machines) If so, for the hardware to communicate to the VM do you have to pre-configure the NIC card on the VM or any other special settings? Thanks
  21. Also keep in mind that sections of rope light might go out in the middle of your show an if you dont have some on hand to quickly resolve ,...... so my suggestion would be just buy a spool of 200-300' its cheap enough and will save your A$$ and levels of stress if the above does happen.
