  1. The Hardware Utility must be of a minimum version to use the pixel trees. I had literally the exact same problem last night and updating my LOR software version was the fix. No, you don’t update the HU individually, but that IS the source of the problem.
  2. What’s your HU version? My guess is you need to update your HU.
  3. No, here’s the thing (and please let me know if I’m doing something wrong): The LOR S5 Sequencer will not allow me to export the sequence if I have Motion Effects on a non-Enhanced network. By the way, props and gratitude to LOR. I just saw they upgraded me to overnight shipping for the dongle for free.
  4. By the way, I just wanted to give a shout out to JR. He took time out of his morning to hop on the phone with me to discuss the issues. We didn’t necessarily fix it (yet), but he helped me narrow down the variables. What we we found is that the CBT16 definitely appears to be my choke point, and the Pixie8 CANNOT run outside of an Enhanced Network. There may be other ways to crack the egg, but I’m just going to split into two networks Thanks JR!!! It was great meeting you. GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!
  5. Yup, that’s what I’m doing. I’ve already ordered the red dongle so it should be here in less than a week. So, just to be clear: there is no way to make the Gen 2 compatible with the Enhanced network via firmware update, correct? As you said, this is hardware related, not software. I just want to reiterate one of the issues I see here: The Pixie8 trees are specifically listed as NOT needing to be on an Enhanced Network. It also explicitly discusses it on the last page of the instruction manual that comes with it. “The Pixie8 controller is Designed to be part of the Light-O-Rama network. It will run in a standard network or an enhanced network. The Pixie8 controller is daisy chained into the network like any other Light-O-Rama controller.”
  6. Ok, so just to clarify: there is no way to make the Gen 2 device compatible through a firmware update, correct? I’ve already ordered an additional dongle, but that’ll take a week to get here, so I’m gauging my options.
  7. Thanks for putting this together, and thanks for pointing me here from the other thread. Unfortunately, I’m still stuck. My primary question at this point (I think) is if one of my controllers is not Gen 3, will I ever be able to run it on the Enhanced Network? Or is it a foregone conclusion I’m going to be running two networks? I’ve already ordered an additional red dongle, but that’s a week out, so I’m trying to figure out if I can get my show running in the meantime. For now, none of my lights will fire unless I take it back down to the non-enhanced network. Thanks!
  8. My license level is already pro. Yes, there’s a learning curve, but I changed because I was told by someone I needed to in order to use this tree. I think I’m picking up steam on the software, but I still haven’t figured this issue out. What’s confusing to me is that it specifically says in the setup instructions that this thing can be used in Regular or Enhanced networks. It appears that’s technically true, but if you want to add Motion Effects, you must use Enhanced. What’s the point of having the tree without motion effects?! I’ll take a look at the guide now and hopefully that will solve my problems. Please let me know if I’m incorrect in anything I said about. Thanks!
  9. I’m having similar issues and I want to make sure I understand the guidance correctly: According to my HU, I have 1) 1xCTB16D (ver 4.40) 2) 3x16PC-G3 3) 2xCR150D 4) 2x CMB24D 5) 1xPixie8 I upgraded to S5 this year and am trying to get the enhanced network thing to work for my pixel tree as well. The question i want to clarify is: Can I update my CTB16D’s firmware to make it work, or is the Gen 3 thing a hard wired aspect of it? If it’s not something I can fix, it sounds like I have to run 2 networks, but how do I do that? Do I plug in two separate USB cables using the dongle? I’m not completely clear on the physical nature of the wiring.
  10. How do I tell if my controllers are Gen 3. I’m frustrated because I swear it said somewhere right on the product listing that the tree was as simple as daisy chaining it to the rest of your network. Now I’m running into all kinds of problems.
  11. Hey Everyone, I think I may know the answer to this, but I figured I'd ask in case there is an easier way to do it. Basically, I want to have two channels shimmer opposite of each other. Obviously, if you apply shimmer to both of them, they will be perfectly in sync. Is there a quick way to have them out of phase? My initial thought is to change my timing scale. If I remember right, the shimmer effect is basically switched on/off everyone .01 seconds (can you confirm this for me in case I have to do it like I'm about to describe...). So, I guess if I split everything into smaller timing, I could offset them manually. That's fine--I can do that. I just get annoyed anytime I'm not using my fixed timing grids.
  12. I used a .avi file as my audio file. It works perfectly fine when running the show--just a little funky when using it in the editor.
  13. A problem started this year once I started introducing video into my sequences, but even after telling it not to display video, I'm still having the issue, so they may not be related. Basically, when I press play in the editor screen, the stop button and all other controls gray out. The only way I can stop the sequence is to go to the play drop down menu and pressing stop OR opening the animation screen and pressing stop from there. So weird! Also, my visualizer works, but I cannot control from there. If I use the "Stop SE" or "Play SE" buttons, it freezes up and I have to ctrl-alt-del, End Task. Any suggestions? It's making some last minute changes really cumbersome.
