  1. I recently had one channel behaving strangely on one of my CTB-16PC controllers. I came to the forums to see if other people had a similar experience. It sounded like I could have a bad triac, but every post with bad triacs seemed to say the channel would be stuck on continuously at 50%. That was not the case for me. So, I tried the other tests I saw recommended like resetting the unit and running the controller with the bad channel by itself (with no other controllers on the network) using a new/different network cable. None of this resolved the issue. Here is part of the problem description I created for the ticket I sent to LOR: _____________________________________________________ I'm trying to determine if a have a bad triac. When the show is enabled but not running, this channel comes one for about 2 seconds every minute. When the show is running, it seems to go on/off/fade at the correct time when I turn on all 8 channels (the entire leaping arch) all on the same side of the unit. When I perform a chase on that side, it seems that one channel remains on for a additional second or two after the channel was instructed to turn off (normally a fade off 100%-0%). Based on other users description of a bad triac (channel stuck on at 50%), this sounds like a different issue. _____________________________________________________ LOR sent me new triacs and replacing the one for this channel resolved the issue. I just wanted to post this information for anyone trying to determine if they are having a triac issue when their channel is doing something other than stuck on continuously at 50%.
  2. Kzaas, I downloaded your Kutlus version and checked it out. Your timing for the faces is great! Another user, dcdpkpr, provided the Pentatonix version which I wanted to program this year. Thanks to everyone for the quick support.
  3. Thank you kzaas. I can get some good ideas from your sequence. Did you shorten the wav file? The original on the album is 3:23 and the sequence appears to be 2:59.39. If anyone has the full length song that would help me with the timing.
  4. If anyone has the sequence with timings for this song, could you please email it to me? niecra@gmail.com Thanks in advance. I know how time consuming creating timings can be and sharing your hard work is appreciated!
  5. I should have asked 2 months ago. Thanks for the quick response.
  6. Is there a way to modify the start/end times of groups of scenes or morphs? I'm not sure how much everyone else cut/paste items, but they are usually exactly what I want but not the correct time length. I find myself grouping stuff and clicking the nudge length buttons hundreds of times when creating a sequence. If there is a faster way to change times of multiple items, you could save my mouse finger. Thanks
  7. Order has been restored to the universe!!! I would like to thank both of you who quickly responded to my issue. The changes Brian suggested to the Sequence Editor had no effect, but changing the CCP network to 500K did the trick. I have even noticed some things the CCPs were not doing correctly has been fixed. For the record, it appears 5 CCPs will not work at 115K if the sequence affects many channels at the same time. (at least on my old PC) Thank again. Merry Christmas
  8. I put this question to the S3 forum with no response. I'm running LOR 3.10.6. This year I added 5 CCP's to my show. I decided to put the CCP's on a separate network, Aux A, (Com 4) running at 115.4K speed. My old network, (Com 3) is running at 57.6K. Total channels - 1500 on com4 and 64 on com3. I noticed my arches running on com3 appear to be running slowly on busy sections of the songs. Has anyone else experienced slow response on an old network when added a new network? I thought leaving the old controllers on the old network would possibly prevent exactly what I'm experiencing now. Before I purchase a long cat5 cable and put everything on the fast network, I was wondering if anyone is running the older controllers on a faster network speed without issues. UPDATE: Tonight I put both networks to the 115.4K speed and got worse results. So, I put the old network back to 57.6. Now I'm not sure putting everything on a single 115K network would help. If I can't get this fixed soon, I think I will have to revert back to last years sequences (which still work fine) without using the CCP mega tree. I've put in a lot of time programming the tree for 6 songs and would hate to cut it out. If I wanted to put everything on a high speed 500K network I think I would have to buy the red RS485, and do some type of upgrades to my (3) gen 2 controllers and 1 gen 3 controller. Can anyone explain if that would help and exactly what I would need do to the old controllers?

  10. I'm using a visualization file called MegaTreeBottomToTop.lee. I honestly have no idea where I got the file, but I know I didn't create it. I just upgraded my LOR versions when I purchased the Superstar upgrade license. Did the example visualization files get updated? If there is another 20 string counterclockwise file or if there is a simple way to modify the 24 string files, please let me know. Thank you.
  11. I have a 12' megatree using 10 CCP strings folded to make 20 lines top to bottom. The strings are ordered in a counterclockwise order. When I attempt to display text on the tree, each letter is reversed such that an 'e' does not look correct. I can make the text scroll in the clockwise direction but cannot determine how to make the letters look correct without redrawing the entire character set. Is there a setting I can use to make the letters appear correctly or are there reversed character sets?
  12. Thank you for the quick feedback. I'm looking forward to learning and programming with Superstar.
  13. I recently purchased 5 CCPs to create a 20 string X 25 light megatree. I knew I needed a tool to program 500 channels since 64 kept me pretty busy. So, I decided to look at Superstar versus Nutcracker. After watching a few of the tutorials for both tools, I had a 'a-ha' moment. Nutcracker is an effects generator! You can modify the effects, but you cannot do something as simple as turning on 10 red lights on a string. I decided right then I needed to use Superstar!! So, I have watched the tutorials and looked at the demos/clipboards. I have also seen people in this forum describing how to get an effect like snowflakes using Superstar. I would like to know if anyone has explained how to get the same effects as Nutcracker using Superstar? I will list a few that I would like to use: Bars - rings of lights (you specify how many rows of each color) moving up, down, toward halfway point, away from halfway up the tree. Garlands - lights dropping from the top of the tree and filling it up to the top. Spirals - I have seen how to do a spiral, but how would you do something like , 3 blue spirals, 3 red spirals (120 degrees around the tree), and 3 green spirals (240 degrees from the blue spirals) at the same time. I know there is a learning curve here, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if this is common stuff everyone knows how to do. Thanks
  14. I have seen some of the posts referring to the RJ45 adapters having trouble running at the 500k speed. Are the adapters being sold today, 1-APR-2013, an upgraded version with a chip that can handle the higher speed? I wanted to buy one along with some CCP for sale tonight!!
