  1. Doh! I just realized I can swap the FM sign to the blown triac and the FM sign channel to the green strand! Shouldn't take long. I'll order a new controller during the spring sale so I can have a back up.
  2. Thanks. I put in a help desk ticket. $25 dollars isn't too bad but the controller is heavy so postage may deter me from trying that route. I was thinking about buying a new controller anyway.
  3. That's good. It's annoying to have a strand half lit but I'm not going to sweat it until after Christmas. I have a friend with some soldering skills but I think this may be above his "pay grade." 😉
  4. Due to "life happening," I haven't been keeping up with my Christmas display much until this year. I had this issue hit today. I have an older LOR 1602 30 amp controller (I believe I got it in 2008) that channel one is stuck on 50-70%. I unplugged it and rebooted the computer, but it still stuck on so I'm guessing I have a bad triac. My questions: I'm just an English teacher with no soldering skills. Would it be worth it to try and learn on a delicate machine like this? Should I suck it up and send it in for repairs? Is it worth it to repair an older machine? (admin: how much does it cost to send it in for repairs?) Is it going to make it worse running the show with that strand on lights on? Thanks. I didn't want to start a new thread since this I believe this answered my question.
  5. I got the installation loop stopped and uninstalled LOR and reinstalled it. It worked but I'm scared to turn off the laptop. Any suggestions!
  6. I ran the show yesterday, no problems. Set up the show and it started and stopped flawlessly. Today, I turn on the computer and it trying to reinstall LOR. It can't find the LOR.msi and gives me a Error 1706 message. I can't turn off the laptop and it's stuck in a loop. Any ideas?
  7. I'm having the same problem. I deleted the files but it wouldn't let me save. How do I wipe the registry file? I'm planning on reinstalling later today.
  8. Personally, I like the M6. Looks more like traditional mini lights. I have an 8' spiral tree and it looks.
  9. If you are still offering, I would like to look at those for ideas. I'm trying to get my spiral tree to have variety. Flummer_at_sbcglobal.net If you are still offering, I would like to look at those for ideas. I'm trying to get my spiral tree to have variety. Flummer_at_sbcglobal.net
  10. I have my own show. His signal is strong but I have a new antenna that needs to be trimmed to fit the frequency. I don't want trim it until I'm set on the frequency. As long as I can get it a couple if blocks, I'm satisfied. Right now, my EDM with the untrimmed antenna goes about a block; his goes several blocks. The frequency in question the best for our area but there is one that is good according to that vacant radio frequency website: 94.5 is best while 99.1 is good.
  11. I have someone in our new neighborhood who runs a show also. My question: he uses the same frequency as my show. He is less than 1/2 mile away. Obviously I'm new so I'll change my frequency if necessary but its kind of nice for visitors to just drive by both without changing frequencies. Do I need to change or are we far enough apart?
  12. Yes, down to 20-30%. I have a new antenna that needs to be trimmed down to the appropriate frequency. I'll update after I do this.
