  1. To my fellow Floridians

Looks like the bad girl has passed. We are now getting the winds from the back end. So far 5.5 inches of rain and gust of 52 miles per hour. My security cameras show a lot of junk on the ground but no big chunks of anything. That's it from Bradenton Florida. On a good note I got a new song programed
  2. How many E1.31 channels can LOR run

I would like to run 90,000 channels of pixels, can LOR run this many with out lag I have the pro license. thanks John
  3. How many E1.31 channels can LOR run

Yes, 48 p-10 panels plus all my pixels from the last 4 years
  4. Matrix size?

I have a 4x8 pixel panel with 2 inch spacing and while text looks great I could not get the graphics to look good. This year I have p-10 panels and everything looks great. The cost is more and it's a different software to setup. I'm not sure if LOR can handle the high channel count without lag. I have asked this forum but haven't had a reply yet. if it can't, I will have to use xlights to run my show.
  5. K6ccc Thank You Once Again

Many thanks to k6ccc also for his help the pass few years. John
  6. I want to run approximately 90,000 channels of dmx. Can LOR handle these many channels without lag?
  7. How many dmx channels can LOR safly run?

After paying for the upgrade for the pixel editor I was disappointed to say the lease. You have always helped me on these boards to which I am grateful. Thank you. Perhaps one day you will go into the p-10 panels and I can return the favor and help you. John
  8. How many dmx channels can LOR safly run?

I am going to run a 49 p-10 panels plus all of the other pixels that I now run. 3 different people have said not to do it in LOR because it would bog down. Yes it's e1.31. I do the pixels in xlights and then import them to LOR because 1 I don't like the all or nothing with the Pixel editor and 2 I have run LOR for 6 years and keep adding on to it. I guess I have to switch everything over to Xlights UGH ! Thanks for the reply John

  10. Oldest Sequencer Here?

I'm 74 and will be 75 in August. My wife is 73 and we both take about 2 weeks to put up our display. Now you know why I'm oldandslow
  11. Splicing LED M5 mini lights

Yes you can as I did this on 5 different strings of sealed lights. You must keep the same number of bulbs in the string and more importantly keep the same number of bulbs between the resisters. George is right about the colors having different voltages but I found no difference in the brightness that the eye can detect. You will find that the blue bulbs are the worst for failure rate. I solder and shrink the splices as well as liquid tape them. One last thing, you must keep the polarity correct or the lights will not light where you splice. John
  12. I have two channels that come on and off together. They Are 3 and 4. I have a 1602. The inside is very clean. What can I do to get them to work separately. They started off fine.
  13. E6804 green power flicker

I have a 6804 that worked perfect last year and this year when I tested it this year, the green power on the board will flicker when I send the test dated thru it and the lights will not go on. When not running data it is the normal green color. I'm talking about the red and green lights on the board. What could be wrong? Thanks for any help I can get. John (oldandslow)
  14. E6804 green power flicker

Jim, this was my first E6804 I bought from SanDevices fully assembled Two years ago and you gave me the tip to leave a space for more universes to insert which I did. This is the reason I was able to switch so easily. I might try to fixit after the season. Thanks again for the input. John
  15. E6804 green power flicker

Thanks K6ccc The port is bad. I checked the fuse and even swapped the fuse with a port that I'm not using. I reconfigured for the second port and all is well. I am only running 80 pixels on the port so I'm not sure what went wrong. I would like to personally thank you for your help the last two years when I changed to pixels. You got me through some challenging times and I'm at this level only because of your input. I do read a lot on these forums but at my age it takes a little longer to figure out what to do. Thank you for all you do on these forums and for helping me. John (oldandslow)
  16. E6804 green power flicker

I think that the port is bad because I just put in 5 new pixels and they didn't light so I put them into the second port and reconfigured the board and the new pixels light. I am going to reconfigure for the normal lights that I run and let you know.
  17. E6804 updates

Has anyone updated the new sandevices software update? I was wondering if the bugs have been worked out. I have a 3 year old E6804 that I was thinking of updating because of the odd pixel configuration and thought that I could do it more easily with the new software. I was reading and fine that some went back to different versions of it. I want to run 4 universes 1-80 pixels 2-135 Pixels 3-118 Pixels 4-112 Pixels What update would be the safest? thanks John (oldandslow)
  18. E6804 updates

Thanks for the replies. I have 2 E682's and I needed help to configure them as they were hard for me to understand with different lengths of pixels. I had this and brought it out for some icicles that I made from some cheap pickles that I bought at the last minute from China. I believe it was you Jim that help me understand the two ground system that the 3 wires use. You also gave me the tip to leave some open spaces to insert new universes and that is exactly what I'm doing, using those spaces. Since I don't need to update then I wont. Thanks again to everyone for the help. My tip to you guys is "Don't get old because everything gets harder to understand"
  19. What is 2 pin SPI protocol?

I decided to do a new project and bought some 12V 2811 bullet RBG. I can't get them to work they are 3 wire - RED +, White Data AND Blue Neg When I hook them up only the last pixel Lights. When I went on the site they said it uses 2 pin SPI protocol. Can I use these if so How do I hook them up to get them to work. Thanks John
  20. What is 2 pin SPI protocol?

I bought them direct from China.
  21. What is 2 pin SPI protocol?

Thanks k6ccc, I had to put both blue wires together before they would work. I had tried each blue wire by themselves with no luck. Your suggestion putting them together worked. What I don't understand is that there is only 3 wires coming and going to each pixel and a extra blue on each end. I plan on cutting the pixels in 4 and 5 pixel strips for icicles and power inject at each end. I will have two runs of 150 pixels. I'm thinking once I have the two blues on the Ground on the controller I don't have to do anything with the extra blue on the end. Is this your thinking also. Thanks for your help John
  22. What is 2 pin SPI protocol?

I am using a E-682 controller. These pixels have a white and blue wire plug on each end along with a red and blue wire on each end. I cut the plug and used the center white and the outside red and blue.
  23. Power each side of E682

Can you use two 360 power supplies on one E682 board. Using one for each side. I now have one power supply going into each side of the E682. I want to put two power supplies and power the board with one from each and use the other power outputs for power injection. Is this something that can be done? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks John
  24. Music will not start in sequence

When I'm in a sequence and start the sequence the analyzer starts and the bar comes up but the sequence will not start. Any ideas as to what went wrong. Everything worked perfectly yesterday? I tried several songs and have the same problem on them all. I'm running 4.1.2 pro
  25. Music will not start in sequence

For those that were watching this thread. The problem was NOT with LOR, it was windows 10. I tried the remedies above but it didn't work. What made this frustrating was it would work for an hour then stop and freeze. What I did was reinstalled windows 10 and it has been working for three whole days without a problem.
