  3. Hopefully everyone's putting their finishing touches on their displays.. I just got back from college and I hope I will be able to set it up this year. But I have a question that Ive always wanted to know the answer to. I watched many professional displays on youtube and such. How do you guys get the minis to always stick out or do you perfer rope lights and CCRs? I was curious because I could never get my minis to point out directly in he direction of the cars. Happy holidays guys!

  5. I actually tried that and it worked on another computer. You think its the drivers? It was working on COM4 but randomly halfway through a show it stopped working and wont recognize the adapter.
  6. Hey guys. With Halloween coming around the corner I've been finalizing my show. Last night I plugged in the USB 485 to the computer (vista) and it said it could not recognize the adapter. I tried everything! Reinstalling the drivers, restarting the computer, changing the cord that attaches to the converter. Nothing works. Can anyone help or is it time for me to get a new USB-485? Happy Halloween, Joe
  7. Thanks Max! I used the acid brush but it didnt work Its good though because my replacement just came in the mail. And Thank you everybody else who helped!! Merry Christmas, Joe
  8. I've used paper towels and a hair dryer but no success. It should be coming in tomorow tho
  9. I am running behind schedule for my christmas display so I was kinda rushing the setup. Last night I tested my PC16 and LOR1602W to see if they were working, but I accendentally left the USB-485 adapter out in the rain. Now today the hardware utlity cant find comm port 4 which I use for my controllers. Now when I connect the usb 485 into the computer a pop-up appears and says it cannot recognize the adapter. I went into control panel>hardware utility and tried to update the drivers but nothing worked. I went through ALL of the troubleshooting steps(reset and everything) to fix it and now im comming to the conclusion that my USB-485 adapter got wet and is now non-functioning. So I lost patients and ended up just ordering a new one. But is there anyting I can do before it arrives?? Thanks And Merry Christmas! -Joe
  10. Well I'm not 100% sure it's non functioning, it would just seem that way. And how long do you think shipping would take??
  11. I come to the LOR community with another problem. This is my first xmas display but I did use tthe controller for my halloween display. 12. If anyone has a LOWES by them, they have them there for about 10 bucks plus a 25% discount on all holiday stuff
  13. I just finished up my first Halloween Display, one video: and now I am looking foward to my Christmas Display. Now my family has a diverse religious backround, some Jewish and others Christian. Along with our community which is 85% Jewish I was starting to think of a "Holiday Display" that would be appealing to all religious backrounds. I mean I would have mostly Christmas music, but would feature maybe a few Hanukkah songs. But the problem I faced was How do I create a LOR display that has visual features that all religions would enjoy? I have already decided I would not be using minitrees or ANY tree in that matter. But what do I use in my display that would be a mini-tree substitute that does not scream CHRISTMAS? Any suggestions would help!! Thank you, Joe
