  1. I found that when I conver the LOR sequence file to X-Lights it is about 1/10 the file size.
  2. Sorry for the really long delayed reply. My whole show is 9.5GB (20 minutes long). I am using X-Lights this year to run the show and have not had any problems with lag. I really hope LOR does something about the way these sequences are saved. File sizes go through the roof when channel counts get really large.
  3. I since I have a lot of pixels and rgb in my display this year, I would like to run my LOR controllers in DMX mode. I found the online guide on how to make the crossover cable, firmware requirements, and channel assignment. I put the latest firmware (CTB16PC-V2 4.40.firmware) on my 6 old LOR controllers (CTB16PC V1 listed on bottom center of the board). I have no issues running DMX on any of these 6 boards. I also put the latest firmware (CTB16PG2-V1.06 firmware) on my 2 newest LOR controllers (CTB16PCG2-V4 listed on the top left of the board). When I try to run these two new board as dmx, they do not function when I sent a dmx signal. The green status light does stay solid when I connect a dmx signal to the board. Do you have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Do I have the correct firmware? 4. This is my first year with a high channel count (>13,000) due to a pixel tree and I am having problems playing the display. I have about 25 minutes of sequences that are about 9.5 GIGAbyte total file size. When I run the display I get error messages in the Status window that say "DMX listener error 3: Comm Winsock Error / 10053". I also get an error that states "Cannot allocate memory for play event nodes." It seems like the sequences play, but there is a long delay between each song. Any advice?
  5. I also have a Hanukkah display and have the same bear as you! I am Christian, and do a Christmas display as well, but also run Hanukkah songs for my neighbors. Here are my last year videos: Other videos here: facebook.com/stallionlights Do you only run the display during Hanukkah? Hanukkah is pretty late this year... Bob
  6. I think a lot people have made some really good points. I unfortunately designed my display around some of the new cosmic devices, thinking the supplier would come through. I did not think this was a giant assumption as these devices were being marketed as coming out soon. Most major projects rely on their suppliers to come through. I really think LOR products are great and will continue to buy in the future. The lesson that I learned from this experience is that the supply chain of these type products is a little too fragile to assume new product releases will happen until you have it in your hands. I guess some people have learned this lesson in previous years, but remember some of us are new to this hobby.
  7. I meant a link is no longer posted on the home page.
  8. I assume CCFs will also not be released this year. The fact that the PDU went away probably means LOR has no more major announcements for the year.

    Enttec Pro setup

As I have been using Enttec Pro for about a week, I am probably not experienced enough to give tons of advice. THe Enttec Pro does come with a USB cable to connect from a USB port on your computer to the Enttec Pro decive. The device has a 5 pin input and output connection. There are lots of opinions about what should be the proper cabling for dmx devices. Some make their own, some use Cat 5 cable. There are 3 pin dmx devices and 5 pin devices.. I would recommend doing a search on "dmx cable" and you should find lots of stuff.

    DMX Test Results

Chuck, Don't mean to steal the thread from bestone, but I just invested in DMX last night, and am hoping to get it working this year. I saw your post, and thought that was really nice of that guy. Then I saw Pottstown, PA and thought WOW, it is Chuck. I also saw Ken started the thread. I may be calling upon your experience once all the cables and Enttec show up! Bob in Schwenksville
  11. Any good source for the Enttec Pro? Should I buy direct from Enttec or are all the ventors selling the same thing?
  12. I recently purchased some dmx devices on ebay, and before they arrive, I wanted to order a Enttec Pro and DMX cabling. What is the best source for these? I was not able to see any vendors referenced in the forums. Thanks for the help!
  13. Cosmic Color Bulb. A lot of people are excited about it. It is a string of 50 bulbs with individual color control of each bulb. I think of it as CCR in a Christmas light string.
  14. It is pretty easy, just go to insert a channel and insert an RGB channel. I have done all of my sequences there for my CCF, once they come out I can figure out how to assign the channel settings to link to the CCFs. No news about the CCF or CCB does make is nerviness though. As long as it is out before Thanksgiving I will be happy.
  15. Thanks again Maxlights for the information. I do not have any CCR. I am going back now and including white in my CCF sequences. Hopefully I will have a few by Christmas.
