    PixCon 16 Setup

Yes, I saw it. Thank you very much for the help. I haven't had much chance to look into it with how busy the holidays have been. I will be getting started with this in February once my display comes down for the year. I'm assuming that PixCon and Pixie have similar addressing (ID 1 for the first device and ID 11 for the second)? Thanks for the help Bryce

    PixCon 16 Setup

Not sure if this is the right board to ask this question, but is there an easy step-by-step guide that can get me through setting up two PixCon 16 controllers? I just want to use the RGB 12V system, without the hassle of DMX universes, on the LOR network. Would that be possible, or is it better to use DMX universes for the RGB? If so, where can I find a setup guide for that? The goal is 100 pixels per port on the device, and there will probably be at least 10 feet from the start of one ribbon/strand to the controller. For some, I may need null pixels because the distance could exceed 50 ft.
  3. Throughout the past couple years I have been creating sequences and just setting the channels every time. However, my display is beginning to grow in complexity and creating the channel setup every time I create a new sequence is tedious. How do I save channel configs to use in later sequences?
  4. The one thing that I would like the most is to have any conduit traveling from the inside to the outside of the house. This is important, especially if you are planning on using your computer to run the show. This very much depends on the software license level you have/are planning on getting. Find places where you can leave hardware. That way the show is much easier to set up for the beginning of each season. Hope this sheds some light.
  5. Have you updated the show in all of the days of the week or just one? This could cause a similar problem. It could also be that you didn't add a shutdown sequence every day. That is my best guess at the solution. Hope this helps.
  6. Thanks for the help. Can't wait to get this show up and running!
  7. Thank you all for your helpfulness, especially this time of year. This will make my year much easier.
  8. JR, Im using two PixCon16 controllers for my show.
  9. Keep backups of all of your sequences/showfiles on a flash drive or external hard drive to prevent loss of your show in case something happens to your computer.
  10. I've heard about this mysterious item called a null pixel that repeats data if the travel between controller and first pixel is grater than the length specified for the controller. Does such a thing exist? If so; where do I find it? And how do I get it to work?
  11. I have been working with RGB Smart Ribbons a lot recently, but I have to use the square pixels (12V-BLK-SQUARE-50) Can I cut and shorten the strand of lights and what is the best method to make the strand terminate early? Can I extend the strand from 50 pixels to...let's say... 75 pixels? And again, what is the best way to do that?
