  1. I ordered one for use at the Fourth of July. I can't wait.
  2. Ponddude, FYI Some of your how to links are broken.
  3. You can find most of the info here: http://talk.planetchristmas.com/showthread.php?t=16398&highlight=Double+Channels
  4. Don Krasley wrote: The iDMX1000 is realy a simple protocol translation box. A LOR network address such as E0 translates directly to a DMX address of 01. This allows that any events applied to the E0 LOR channel is sent directly to a DMX channel. That said there is a little more enhancement for some of the LOR network channels. It allows some of the functions such as twinkle to be supported by a DMX device. Since DMX channel supports basically ON/OFF and ramp up and ramp down over a 256 step range. I hope this helps.
  5. Hadn't thought of using silica before. Even the rice idea might work. I live in a relatively humid climate and humidity can get into any little crack in a box. May try it on some of my boxes this season.
  6. That was a whole lot of wrapping, trust me. Each arch is 8 channels, with one channel for the candy cane pole light. It looks really cool when rocking back and forth. You can see it in action here: http://www.vimeo.com/2877130
  7. Kinda like this? Attached files
  8. http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2002 Best price I know of.
  9. Since the current version only supports 256 channels I'd say that it's DMX lite right now.
  10. The DIYers are probably the most versed on DMX but this might help you. This WIKI should be of some help: http://christmasinshirley.com/wiki/index.php?title=DMX DMX devices connect together very simillarly to LOR devices with the exception the you have to mind your in's and out's.
  11. HOA = Having Omnipotent Authority over you. You want someone else to tell you what you can do with your house or land then move into an HOA subdivison. They sound good on the surface but underneath it's always a play for power. Such a neighbor hood would be the last place I would buy.
  12. I had one of mine fill with water like that. They were actuall horizontal with the earth. I also had several that actually came apart and one that the base came off of. I have been packing things up and haven't had time to address these problems directly.
  13. http://www.americord.com/bulk-wire/prod_477.html I bought 2000 feet of black this year and it seems like a very quality product. You do have to call for the best pricing. Be sure to get them to e-mail you the quotation as well and check the invoice when you get it. They do correct any errors in billing vs quotation.
  14. Another good video posting site is: http://www.putfile.com/
