  1. Thanks for the reply, I think I will just run several Cat 5 just in case I need or want to expand my LOR networks. LOL
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. So I should be able to run 4 networks/DMX universe off of 1 Cat 5 cable, just by taking 2 wires and putting them into pins 4 & 5 of the jack or should I just run 1 Cat 5 for each network and DMX universe?
  3. One more question, I am going to use the LOR USB485B to rum my DMX network. Can I use both outputs to branch the circuit to different places in my display?
  4. I'm glad this came up before I wired my house. So if I want to do what you suggested Steven, I need to use pins 4 & 5 for each universe, whether it is LOR or Dmx? So in 1 cat 5 cable I can do 4 of them right?
  5. OK next question. I nkow people use the cat 5 coupler but does anyone use a cat 5 splitter? Attached files
  6. Thanks Steve I didn't even think of that. Hmmmmmm.
  7. Thanks, now to figure out how many runs I should do?????
  8. I would like to run a couple DMX univeres from my show computer in addition to my LOR, but I would like to run an outlet to my roof, soffet, and to my yard. So I could connect them out side and have them hard wired in the attic and walls, is this possible?
  9. Maybe this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-30A-DC-Universal-Regulated-Switching-Power-Supply-/110656524075?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c3a48f2b Thanks
  10. Hey Kevin what type of PS are you using is this one? http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/701799/209855560-289599951/350W-Dual-Output-Switching-Power-Supply-88-264VAC-input-12V-350W-output-CE-and-ROHS-approved.html Thanks
  11. How do you tell these modules what channel to start on? dmoore wrote: There are reasons that each solution exists: * Centralized (such as an LOR DC controller or the one you posted the link to) is great where you have a high concentration of channels, such as one element. * De-centralized is great where you have lots of space between elements, say spread all over your yard, then running all the wire, making up connections, etc get's pretty complicated. For example, I was able to layout and hook-up over 90 corostars in about 2 hours - that's power AND signal AND programming the addresses. Had I had one or a few centralized controllers, I would have had much more cable, more boxes to put everything into, etc. Here is a behind the scenes video: Additionally, the 3 Channel DMX controllers are cheaper (20+) and they handle more current. They also have mounting boxes which handle outdoor weather pretty well. Also super small so they fit into just about any element. Short circuit protection, ability to better break up channel orders if you need to, etc all make these a good solution to a centeralized solution. http://www.holidaycoro.com/product-p/26.htm
  12. I made 3' candy canes with my arches inbetween them. Attached files
  13. So you can use speaker wire for these strips? dito wrote:
  14. Can you put 3 LOR DC boards in 1 enclosure and use the extra channel so that you can run 16 strips instead of losing the extra channel per board?
