  1. also need to add: 6. create (or just use the startup animation again) a 1min shutdown animation with just the 'pretty' white lights 7. put this into my 'shutdown' tab in show creator and made sure to CHECK the box that says 'turn off used lights ...' this turns off all the lights at the end of the show schedule
  2. I was able to resolve this, here's how: I created a 1min startup animation with just the 'pretty' white lights I want on when there is no show. I put this into my 'startup' tab in show creator and made sure to uncheck the box that says 'turn off used lights ...' this keeps all those lights on until someone presses the button when someone pushes the button all these lights go off and the sound/show start at the end of each of my sequences I bring all the 'pretty lights' back up to full in the interactive tab in the show creator I made sure to uncheck the box that says 'turn off used lights ...' this keeps all those lights on until someone presses the button again
  3. @stevehoyt almost all of this was setup long before S5 and had no trouble at all, but yes now that the preview and the sequence are basically the same, it became a problem. The channels EXISTED but were not used, like @k6ccc said, in this new world no channel is ever truly 'off' just set to minimum. We can mark this resolved now!
  4. @k6ccc The channels in the background and the channels in the songs are completely separate, even the networks are different now. However, the channels EXIST in both sequences, so there is an experiment that could be done to see if we took the RGB channels out of the background sequence would they still interfere with the song. In any case, it's been working pretty well for the last few years, it's just this software update that has me all thrown off. As far as your part two, I agree that the first year, the button was missed often and people were confused. but the last 2 years we have had a big sign that's hard to miss. People seem to be getting it, and we have lots stop by, enough anyway.
  5. @k6ccc That seems to have been the issue. Thanks for your help, But now I am not sure how to accomplish what I want. 1. show starts at 4pm, I want the 'pretty' white (plain) lights to come on and stay on so we look like a 'normal' house 2. when someone presses the magic doorbel the plain lights go off, a song plays from the playlist and the 'crazy' lights come on in sync 3. when the song is over the house goes back to the 'pretty' setting I am thinking about adding a beat to the end of each song that turns the pretty lights back on, and then unchecking the 'turn off used lights...' checkbox That should achieve the after song effect I am looking for. Do you think I would be able to achieve point 1 above by making the 'pretty' sequence run at startup and also unchecking the checkbox for that?
  6. upon some further testing, these sequences do NOT display this problem when played directly from the sequencer. I have had some oddities crop up with these new sequences and the compression, I wonder if that is to blame? And, yes, since my show is interactive, I would have a background animation going as well that's supposed to turn OFF when the music is triggered, that's a possible culprit as well. I still haven't figured out how to work that out succesfully. I will try removing it from my show and see what happens.
  7. @k6ccc thanks! Now I have new problem tho.. every channel on the new network seems to be 'twinkling' (blinking rapidly) even when the sequence calls for steady on. Any idea why this might be? It should be noted that these are sequences that were upgraded from S4 that are exhibiting the issue.
  8. I added the 500k enhanced network on a new dongle, network Aux A, and now we are good to go. @jgcorl what motion effects are you having trouble with? I haven't tried them all
  9. @k6ccc were you ever able to determine a way to do this?
  10. Still waiting for my second USB dongle to arrive. As soon as it does I will update here.
  11. OK, looks like I have a bit of an issue. I have 2 controllers that won't go be able to go on the 'enhanced network' (CTB16D Green Board, & InputPup) Everything else qualifies. Can I make 2 networks with one USB interface? Nevermind. Answered my own question. That's a big bummer, need another network interface.
  12. Thank you for the heads up on my profile! Fixed. I did add the info to my post tho: v5.3.12 Pro - I have a 9 strip RGB 'tree', 50 pixels each on a PIXIE16 v1.03 Not sure if I have the 'enhanced LOR network' enabled.
  13. v5.3.12 - I have a 9 strip RGB 'tree', 50 pixels each on a PIXIE16 v1.03. I am just starting work with Motion Effects in S5. I put together a quick sequence with a few motion effects on the tree and a few 'regular' actions. When I play back the sequence it works fine in preview, controls everything. But when I go outside, the motion effects parts are not working. The 'regular' parts work, so it's not like my controller died or something. Any help would be appreciated...
  14. @k6cccI just looked and apparently you and I had this same conversation 2 years ago.. with no resolution.
  15. Anxiously awaiting this reply. 🤪
  16. I have a 'normal' animation in my show, which just keeps on a basic set of white lights/icicles. When someone pushes the Christmas Magic button (a doorbell on a post) the show plays the next song sequence in the interactive portion of the show. The problem I have is that sometimes during the song sequence, the animation will start up again. This kind of ruins the effect. Ideally, the show would go Normal->Song->Normal. I have tried making the animation extra long so that it doesn't restart during the middle of a song, but if I make it too long, the whole house is in 'black' for too long after the song. Does anyone how to just 'pause' the animation during the interactive song sequence? Using 4.3.26, not sure if a software update will help here.
  17. Jim, Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure Jukebox is what I want, it just doesn't seem to be pausing the other sequences in the show... I even tried creating a sequence with a silent audio track, and just using that, but Sequence Editor did NOT like the audio track. Crashed. I ended up making my animation loop 5min long so at least it was LESS LIKELY to start up again during a triggered song, but that's not going to work perfectly. Hope someone knows something I don't...
  18. I have a show with a 2 min animation that just loops a couple hundred times. In this same show I have a Jukebox Interactive goup that triggers a musical sequence. This works pretty much as expected, except that I notice that when I trigger the musical sequence it begins to play, but if/when the animation gets to it's 2min loop point it starts playing again consecutively. Is there a way to have a trigger 'pause' anything that's running until it's finished and then resume?
  19. All, There is an Aux Power Barrel on my CMB24D, the documentation around this barrel is not fantastic. I can't tell if this barrel can be used to power other devices, or acts as an alernative power supply for CMB24D. (or both...) I do not have the USB-RS485 with the BOOSTER, so I can't power my PUP via the ethernet, it would be great if I could power it from the nearby CMB24D. Alternatively, does anyone know if the BOOSTER is just 'light o rama speak' for POE (power over ethernet) and if you can accomplish the same thing with a third party POE injector? Thanks, -Brian
