  1. I’m new to this world. I lack the expirence to offer advice on spacing. However, I’m in the processes of building a tree right now and I stumbled onto Walter Monkhouse’s ASAP strap and pole, building a base, and RGB tree instructions and the information on his website really Helpful. Go to www.magicchristmas.org and locate the how to section. It’s worth a look. goodluck
  2. Sarge- I'd appreciate a copy as well when you get time. Thank you Hbclubfen@hotmail.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. May I also have a copy? Thanks in advance. Hbclubfen@hotmail.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The Pixcon16 controllers and 10W eight pack floods didn't last long. I checked out four minutes into the sale and denied the pixcon16, luckily that was the only thing I missed out on. Hopefully they will be included in the summer sale. I hope everyone got their wish list filled.....
  5. Brichi One option is a vent made by bud industry. This vent is 3 inches tall and allows you to mount a 60x10mm fan inside the box. The fan physically mounts to the vent on the inside and helps with circulation. It's pretty small and should work with your box. Good luck Eric https://www.amazon.com/Enclosures-Boxes-Cases-1-10in-External/dp/B011NATZBK
  6. Thanks JR, I'd like to see the rest if you don't mind sharing. Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Would you please post a link or PM me with a sample of your work? A sample would really help me narrow down which package would work best for my needs, thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for the link and information. I'll let you know what I end up with and if it works as planned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Brichi good job on the controller box! I am in the process of building by first controller and planning to use the bud industries vent and 60 mm fan as well. I just discovered that some people use a thermistor that connects to the 60mm fan. The thermistor works like a thermostat, the idea, as the temp of the box increases it changes the resistance of the thermistor which allows the currant to power the fan. When the box cools the resistance becomes higher and restricts the currant and shuts off the fan. This is a new concept to me and I'm trying to figure out which thermistor works within the temperature range of a 12v 350 watt power supply. My power supply has a max operating temp of 158 degrees Fahrenheit. If anyone knows which resistor is appropriate for the job please advise? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Don't forget, Holiday Coro one and only 2017 presale ends 2/21/17. Fair prices on several items especially for people starting out, like me. I saved a good amount this year, can't wait for Light O Rama summer sale.
  11. Got the info, I plan to come see the show later this week. Thx Wmilkie
  12. I was hoping to build my first LOR light show this year. Starting buying supplies in January, reading forums and asking questions, even went to a local LOR spring meet-and-greet to see what I was in store for. In the mean time, I put my old house on the market in March and long story short we closed escrow on Halloween. Clearly not enough time for me to reasonablely build the light show that I envisioned for my first year. Rather than force it, I set a new goal of Halloween 2017. Is anyone willing to share the addresses of local light shows in the Orange County California area? I figure if I'm not going to build my own show I can take my family to enjoy other shows in the area. I will also be traveling to Cleveland OH (actually north and east of Cleveland) in the near future and I'd like to take my kids to see lights in the snow. If anyone is willing to share an address or two from that area I'd appreciate it. Merry Christmas
  13. I am in the process of building my first show and assembling my first controller box. My plan is to put a pixcon 16 controller in one cg 1500 enclosure and use a secondary CG 1500 enclosure for the two required power supplies. When wiring the controller do most people use short water resistant dongles and make up the distance from the controller box to the pixels with long extension cables? Or should I use the longer "extension cables" instead of the short dongles and hard wire them directly to the controller? Also, I'd like to add a fan to the enclosures to keep the controller and power supplies cool. Does anyone know if cutting a hole in the door of the box is need to facilitate the proper air circulation? Or does the water resistant nature of the box offer enough air leaks for reasonable air circulation to keep the power supplies cool. I'd rather not cut a hole in the door of a water resistant enclosure, seems to defeat the purpose. Any advice is appreciated, thank you..
