  1. I would like to have 5 mega trees working same and have 12 channels per color or 48 channels per tree. Plan to use 3 controllers per tree. For simplicity I can give each trees controllers the same 3 id's? If so, when I start up program, will the software only see three units, or will it see all 15 units?
  2. Is it possible to just update latest Version 4, which looks to be 4.3.34 and not install version 5. Too late in year to learn about S5 and not going to give up two monitors to view. I have had problems last three years with shows crashing after running around 3 days and have to reboot PC. Hopeful something changed in last year in S4 to stop the problems. Thanks
  3. First video for 2016 was shot from a DJi drone. We were surprised how steady the picture was and very happy with the results for a first time try.
  4. There is noise going out from your laptop which could come from any number of sources that when the comm listener chimes in you will get this. You are not alone and it does not matter what controllers you use. I find that even with all anti virus removed and wireless networks off Windows 10 will look for security and create a message. I power off pc after every show and unplug all 1.31 controllers to eliminate any chance of flickering. Yes I have to plug back in before show time and restart laptop but it solves the problems and the shows run fine. I have a show that is an hour long before it repeats with large files and across four networks on 24 universes that mix four different manufactures is 1.31 controllers with LOR controllers. I am using 4.2.6 and hope that some day the comm listener will not be needed but until such time just power down and don't loose any sleep over it.

  6. Using Dell laptops with different versions of Windows I have not been able to ping an address for a controller (AlphaPix16) which had to do a factory reset on. Controller is stuck with load firmware on display, but the default IP address is not accessible. Is there an issue with Dell's to access 192.168.0.50 or a workaround? You cannot access the manual IP address entry if there is no firmware loaded, and the factory reset evidently wipes everything clean. Looking for ideas?
  7. Updating to 1.04 Firmware has solved my issues as well with two long runs channels which had three nulls installed.
  8. I was able to get it running buy had to have all three of my USB's connected that are used in the sequence, and have the control panel opened. Evidently no outputs to 1.31 without the control panel running? Still don't have a clue why I cannot see the stop button in the control bar though?
  9. I have two other 1.31 controllers and 16 LOR units and three separate USB adapters using 3 networks plus 1.31. All there of ip addresses are set in LOR along with all the universe information. I can ping the controllers and have set them up, tested with there own test software. I use a switch for the 1.31 networks also. Been at this for 9 years and still a challenge with new software every year. Some of the issues such as blacked out screen view of stop button are not related to 1.31 issues.
  10. So I have loaded the new 4.6 software and wanted to test out a new 1.31 controller without having any LOR controllers hooked up. I do have a USB connected, and the Comm listener has accepted. When I go to play the sequence the red box is still showing up in bottom right corner, and nothing is going out. Control the lights is on. Also noted that when I play all controls go grey in the control bar. Only way to stop sequence is open the play drop down and find the stop. Also noted that normal screen display I have one row of buttons showing. If I minimize the screen, and it goes to two rows I can see a red stop box? Is this something new or something setup wrong?
  11. I am aware of the scroll bar. I am trying to get a printout/screen shot of a longer list of universes without having to take multiple shots. There is plenty of room on my screen to enlarge the image, but no means to do so?
  12. I can only see 22 universes on the DMX tab of the LOR advanced Network Preferences in 3.12. There is nothing to grab in the corner of the screen to enlarge the screen. Does anyone have a work around without scrolling the page down?
  13. If you open up your config file in notepad you can scroll down and look for the line with text on annimation settings. You might try and change the values there and save file to new name then reload the new config file. This is how I extended the screen pixel count and it works with all versions up to 3.12. I just keep raising the numbers as I add more items. Working with over 7200 channels ok so far. I am using heavy duty pic with 16 gig and a strong processor so save file times are under 10 seconds but the files are huge. Let me know if it works.
  14. Has anyone using the 4.0+ tried to increase the pixel count parameters in the annimation screen up to say 300 x 600? Was curious if you could do this without going to the visualizer. I changed the code in the config a couple years ago to numbers larger than the program would allow and it has really helped. This year I bumped in up to 300 high and 600 wide so that I can have room for all my pixels with RGB. This gives me 180,000 pixels to work with on the screen. Converting all my display items into the visualizer is much to slow and I would rather use the time to continue sequencing. Up to 24 Tracts and now and adding more every day.
  15. Has anyone experienced loss of output to USB ports and comm ports, but no problems with network outputs? During period of Nov 28th to Dec 29th every couple of days my laptop would loose all the com's. Controllers running on 1.31 network outputs worked fine, the LOR controllers all died due the failure on USB ports. Even my mouse lost connectivity and had to use thumb pad to disable show and turn off PC. Only by leaving PC off for several hours would problem go away. Restarting after shutting down did not clear problems. Verifiier would only show the Com listener had lost signal. Since the shows continued to run not clear that any memory problems exist. This is on windows 7 and 64 bit laptop with 8 meg ram and decent processor. Version 3.11.2 version advanced. Shows ran with simple show build. Why are the USB ports getting killed off? Any ideas would be appreciated.
  16. To check a sequence Control the lights is checked. When you exit the sequence editor the control the lights box will be unchecked when you reopen the same sequence. Enabling a show has nothing to do with checking the control the lights check box, correct?
  17. I found out my problems were in my setups for the controller. Needed to use the group 3 setup for the sequencing I had copied from LOR CCR's track to the RGB 1.31 tracks. Once I got the group setting correct all the lights worked correctly, except then I recognized the colors were off. Went back to test the strings with X-lights, SacNview, and the SanDevices controller testing and was able to determine the strings were not RGB as marked but GBR. Made the updates in the controller setup for the universes where these strings were and finally got the lights to match up to sequence. Note to self, test strips by color before cutting to evaluate them. Going from testing to with explorer to controllers required unloading the control panel each time. I also have to use a network switch between PC and 1.31 controllers, but that was in the plan so not an issue for me. As long as I unload the control panel each time I conclude anything to do with LOR my LAN is much happier and other program work better. I can see the lights on the ports of the switch calm down to just an occasional flash once the control panel is unloaded and the com listener is off.
  18. The only way I could clear things up was to actually have a controller hooked up to a USB adapter when starting up the sequence editior, and then the control panel. The com listener found the com and seemed to settle down. One other issue, which I do not quite understand was that I had to go thru a switch before the E6804 controller. Without the switch no coms were getting to the controller. Added a switch between the controller and PC and things worked fine. The windows 7 I am using this year has been much more difficult than with XP last year. Version 3.10 vs 3.11.2 as well but cannot determine just what the problem has been. I have got things working in Multi-cast, but will try Unicast to see if it works as well. As a test I removed the LOR network assignments from the network preferences and just tried a test and that was total failure. Without at least one network setting to a com port the program would not run properly. Had to stop by un-checking the play the lights box to get it to shut down. Have you tried going thru a switch?
  19. I have not been able to get my sequences to run either out to 1.31 networks. Running 3050 channels over 8 universes. Win 7 with 8mb mem, I7, with the 3.11.2 Have regular LOR network plus two auxillary networks across 14 tracks. Using same three USB adapaters from last year and powered USB Hub. Have shut down wireless, disconnect from LAN and gone direct to network splitter then to Sandevice controllers. Same as last year, but no success yet. All USB's plugged in prior to activating control panel and starting the Com Listener. I have not hooked any LOR controllers up as of yet, and hope that if the comm listener finds one one each of the LOR networks it will work?
  20. The same routing setup was used last year and worked perfectly fine. That seems to exonerate the notion of improper assignment. The only variable which has changed is the version of LOR and changes made in the version to 3.11.2. On the other hand I do not have my entire network with all my controllers active either. With a sequence looking for 13 LOR controllers of data to be delivered and no one home there may be an issue. I will be doing some tests to determine if removing the addresses in the configuration to any other Comm ports affects anything. If this fails, then I will delete all other tracks with any reference to any LOR controller and leave the sequence with just data for a 1.31 DMX controller to see if things work. It may not be the solution, but at least a means to isolate the issue.
  21. This is no joke. If you plan to run with any 1.31 DMX and have 11.2 loaded beware. You will not see any issues sequencing. Now if you try and test a sequence and run your DMX lights you may see some odd things. Curious to know if anyone has been able to actually run DMX via Unicast or Multicast on 11.2 with the new Comm Listner running? Can you start and stop your sequence normally and all your lights work just as you sequenced? If successful, please let us know details on your setups. Can you also get on the internet when you have the Comm Listener running?
  22. It may not be a problem with Windows 8 at all, but within 11.2 and the Comm Port Listener. I cannot run any shows either on Windows 7 with 1.31 connections either. Curious to know when you start the control panel and the comm Listener starts if you can still access the internet? I find that is the first thing that dies. I have two PC's that run 11.2 and both on Windows 7. When the Comm Listener is on I find that many normal functions end on both machines and until I "unload control panel" I cannot regain full function of PC. I can even see momentary flashes that the C.L. is sending something out looking for Comm ports and this is causing some type of problem. I can sequence fine with control panel off, but that's all I can do. When you have a USB adapter hooked up, control the lights on, control panel on and try to play a sequence what happens? Can you start to play the sequence and have the ability to stop the sequence with the start or stop button? I cannot stop the sequence unless I uncheck the control the lights box. And even then what gets broadcast to me 1.31 controllers is not what was sequenced. Can you confirm same?
  23. I am not able to access the internet thru wireless at all when the control panel is activated and Comm Listener running. Once the Control Panel is removed I can get full access via wireless. Ran XP system last year and did not have issues. Went to Windows 7 this year and have not been able to run a 6804 hooked up direct to PC with or without hook ups to LAN. With wireless off, LAN disconnected and network cable only to the E6804 I can test fine in config page for controller. When start up control panel and try to run sequence the lights do not match the sequence at all. I cannot stop sequence unless I uncheck Control the Lights either. I do have a USB adapter hooked up during this as well. This comm listener evidently is killing things. Any work arounds?
  24. Best to start a ticket with LOR Support and see if your CCR ribbon would/could be sent in for repair. If you have already made modifications then the true warranty would be voided most likely, but if you have a bad pixel they might be able to repair and sent back at small charge. This only applies if this is an actual LOR CCR ribbon. Any third party ribbon would be a different story. You also do not want to damage the CCR Controller by wiring incorrectly which could be more costly. Before going any further suggest you get with LOR support.
  25. Actually my post is about a 6804, before I get to the 682. Some progress made in regard to getting the 6804 controller configuration page up and communicating to the 6804 board. Tested both with multi-cast and Unicast within the configuration page and have been able to run tests 1,2,3,4 with no major issues. In test 4 there is a delay of a couple of seconds between each output startup but they work. Have not been able to get LOR to communicate in Unicast, so have setup in Multicast currently. I have 3.11.2 running with windows 7, loaded new USB drivers and have a USB hooked up. Opened up a sequence, network settings set for multicast in LOR and universes assigned. Comm listener opens up, and have to hit control the lights to start sequence, and un check control the lights to stop sequence? (Don't remember having to do that last year?)I used the same controller last year with last year software, but on an XP laptop. Thus far with windows 7 not much luck. The blue light comes on when the sequence starts up, but the lights coming on do not match the sequencing? This is same sequence from last year, which worked fine? Same set up in the config file regarding pixels and those assignments which should work. Have tried to run the Sacnview but not having much luck. Does anyone have some simple directions on how to get it going. It loads up, but I have not been able to get it to do anything. I would like to get the 6804 going before diving into the 682 that still needs testing. Open to any ideas.
