  1. We're talking Christmas lights here. There is no overkill!

  2. A few years ago Doug “Wire Frame Delights” made me a 6’ singing bulb. I never got around to using it and converting my show to RGB so about a month ago a member stopped by my house to see my setup and get tips. I gave him that to get him started perhaps with singing faces but if not it is still a nice prop to light. My friend Orville helped me out a bunch and never asked for a dime even though he was going through tough times due to the hurricanes. Always much appreciative for all of the help and all of the friends I have made along the way. JR

  3. Veterans Day is a time to honor American veterans of all wars. Each year we set aside this special day to remember those who have served in our armed forces. From those brave service members who fought and died in the trenches of World War I, to those who are fighting on the ground, at sea, and in the air today, we owe them our deepest respect and gratitude. To all of those that are serving or have served we salute you. Thanks,Wireframe D'Lites

  5. All of this IS GONE as of Monday February 17, 2020. It WAS NOT SOLD! I gave it all away to an LOR forum member in Florida that was able to come and pick it all up. I'm not going to say who got it, but they will let you know when they're ready to reveal who acquired everything. Why for free? Because it was just taking up space and collecting dust, I had an extra controller I no longer needed and had read about a person here on the forum saying they're going to need another controller to up their display. And I've had quite a few folks on this forum pass things on to me and help me ou

  8. OMG...today they added 2 big inflatables!!! 😄 If they keep this up I'm going to sneak into their yard at night with my LOR controllers, mini-Director, outdoor speaker, & SPT1 cords and rewire all their lights & props! And something tells me they might not even mind! 😄

  9. That’s a Homeowners Insurance Policy payment preparation. You just never know what may happen and then you will feel the wrath. I have spikes and all sorts of fun stuff to be driven into a skull that should fall on it. At Christmas most don’t get out so no worries. But in Halloween night , not gonna happen. I will be there to stop any child from getting hurt or worse. When you normally get and expect 300-400 and they come in trucks, cars , vans, busses and trailers and normally get out in 10's you just cant have that many at once running through a display, no matter how pre

Not the thread, this post.] In lieu of all the members I have assisted with setting up and configuring their pixie16 and the pixie2/4 and 8 controllers I am going to see if this will provide some relief to you the end user, myself someone who likes to help others and the LOR Help Desk who get a ton of requests at this time of year and the end user may not understand the volume of help tickets. Also more than a few recommended I write this up. So here it is. If you follow these steps in order you should have lig

  14. Only a slight connection to lights. I signed a contract for a new driveway in September with company saying they could do it soon. Well they missed soon and wanted to do it after I already had wires across the old driveway. Wires were too low for trucks to get under. Had to push install into spring.

  17. ***STOP UPGRADING TO S5*** If you are currently using S4 then please wait to upgrade until after this Holiday Season. Too many posts starting "I just upgraded to S5". S5 is totally different then what you are use to using and you will not learn it fast enough to run a good show this year. Run your show with what you have been using in the past then upgrade next month. This will give you a full year to learn the new software and work the bugs out of your show. No sense in going through all the frustration now and risk the chance of your show not playing. You have been warned.

  21. First I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all that have commented here. I am a humble person and would never have considered replying here but the majority of you along with many others will be affected by the following statement. Some of you already know this but some may have missed this. I would like to apologize for not sharing any more sequences at this moment. This is due to some members that have no morals, respect or integrity. I simply post in my opening "Sharing Sequence" threads that they are shared for Private Use Only. I even go to the extreme of including the same w

  25. My software page asks people to not bother LOR staff with questions about my software tools. LOR has never asked me to desist from distributing the tools I have written to adjust their files. But I have been blamed for problems a few times. Multiple people were having a problem and reported to LOR they were using MIIP. On that occasion I was asked what miip was doing which I explained and the problem was determined to not be related to my stuff since miip does not change anything used by SE. The other tools do. Kudos to the OP for his tools and reengineering the lms schema. The inde

Wasn't feeling it last week, got in and fell behind quick. A friend of mine who was a LEO was gunned down very late the night before, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep and then had other distractors. I basically got absolutely nothing done this week. Hoping tomorrow things turn around. JR

  27. OK, now that I tried to download the files, it looks like the project files won't do you any good. I'll upload them as mp3's and yo should be able to import them and edit as yo wish. The only problem is that yo can't see how the tracks are laid out when yo add the background music. When you export as mp3's, all the tracks are merged in to two stereo tracks. Sorry about this, but again, feel free with any questions. "No good deed..." huh? EDIT: mp3 links: voice over only template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jQ1dlH3Ps1ihpm-WibefeqnJwwkdfaRS/view?usp=sharing sample

  29. Here is a quick answer with a couple of points. 1 - Highly recommend that you use pixel strings and NOT ribbons. The ribbons are not durable enough to handle that kind of installation. 2 - Yes, you will need pixel controller or controllers. Staying in the LOR product line, that means either Pixie series or the Pixcon 16. If you go with E1.31, there are lots of options, but a whole bunch more stuff to learn. 3 - For most of us, getting singing faces to look good is VERY hard. Some people find it easy. In my case, all my singing faces (LED strings, not pixels) were done by

  30. You can open/expand the prop to see the channels inside of the editor. Right click on the first channel and you will see the sort option in the menu listing. You can sort them in several different ways. Like you, I used to manually sort them and it sucked till I found that option. Hope it helps!!

  31. @Box on Rails Yes this is new and yes it will embed the picture inside the sequence. You can also export the picture back out if needed. It's a nice feature. This was talked about in one of the threads I started and here is the link. It seems to work really well. You can see the new motion effects stuff in the sample sequence. There is one with the embedded picture as well. C:\Users\username\Documents\Light-O-Rama\Sequences\Samples Matt Brown posted an updated sample sequence because the one that gets installed with v5.4 was missing the embedded picture.

  35. Well bug fixes happen with any software. But let’s face it LOR software is falling behind in the times. Moving head lights aren’t new, there’s no reason a model for them cannot be represented. It’s like BB and Pi have been around for awhile now and 2 simple programs like scheduler and play editor should be ported for them. Lor needs to press forward, there shouldn’t be multiple versions of software levels either, I think that’s a poor decision on their end, it chases people away because they don’t want to spend money on lights that they can’t work without special licenses or per channel l

  36. Completely agree with the dielectric grease. After I started using it, along with child proof outlet covers on open female ends and pass thru plugs, my GFCI trips went away. But if a cord gets worn, or nicked where it can make contact with the other wire in some manner, it could cause issues, even if the nicks are only slight, but if both sides are nicked, even if they don't touch, water is a conductor, and that will trip the GFCI. Then FLEX SEAL products can be your best friend too, as they are water proof and form a nice watertight seal when dry. ' It really is great for savin

  37. Keep in mind that a GFCI receptacle has a line side and a load side. If you want all receptacles on the circuit to operate or shut down individually then all wiring is on the line side only, load side will not be used.

  38. Don't count cars, don't count anything, not even the number of lights in my display. None of that is important, what's important is that your neighbors and their children enjoy it. And that YOU, yourself enjoy doing it, whether or not you get any traffic. I'm glad I don't get any traffic, parking is already a nightmare just for the residents that park on the street, adding more cars would just fuel frustration in my neighborhood. So I don't really advertise my display, I do here, but ask for a PM if anyone wants to come and check it out. Sometimes I leave my display up until Jan

The first pass through the show will take hours for a big song list All have major delays between songs for me AFTER the file creation pass. I am downgraded to 5.2.4, creating playback files manually, and they play fine. Groundhog day again.........

  44. As many of the long term members know, I always say thank you whenever someone helps me. Once again my friend Bob helped me this time it was with his MIIP program. It took me 3 years to finally get it up and running and based on the previous years and not being able to follow through with his assistance I was surprised when he offered it once more. And just like me - all for free, on his lunch break. I had one song uploaded for all of that time. Well today he helped me on his lunch break. I had a to me a huge problem when I couldn't get it to work. He got on my computer and

  46. I agree, up until 6 years ago I ran my own company. Paid my employees generously plus perks when things were good. Biggest issue I had was with the one's on salary, they would come in late and leave early. When told they needed to make up the time I got every excuse under the sun. One learned the hard way to dare me to fire them, 2 mins later they were turning in their keys and leaving. When you dare someone you have to be prepared for all results. Don't get me started on the interview process, my ad clearly stated tech skills (computer) but had all sorts coming out of the wood work. Ev

  47. 1. Using a video editor, I create the video file I want to use. Yes 2. The video file contains the audio that will be used for the entire sequence. Yes 3. In the LOR sequence file, I bring in the video file I created in step 1. Yes, under "Media File" 4. I set the video preferences tab to use "full screen". I didn't, I set mine to "Display Videos" This worked for me, so that in playback I could still see the Sequence Editor without having to move the video everytme I needed to change something. It will play in a small box on the screen when you press play.
