The S2 software speaks to pretty much all the LOR hardware that is out there, certainly all that is currently supported. To get a couple of the new features you need the newer firmware, but I believe it is just the older 8 channel controllers, and some even older hardware, that does not have the new features available in firmware.As far as I know, the current 16 channel controllers should all work fine with the LOR1 software, but as long as your purchase of LOR 1 software is on record, I don't know why you would not take the free upgrade to S2...
