Moving a sub group to main track as it's own group???

Not sure I worded the topic title right.

I accidentally created new groups within a group which became sub groups. Is there a way to move that sub group to the main track to become a single group, not within an existing group?

I looked at options but to no avail.

Edit: I'm using 4.2.12

Thank you,

Tom

Yes.
Close the sub group
Right click on the sub group name
Scroll down to Copy to Other Track
Arrow over to
Copy to Track Number
Select Track 1

Then can delete it from other track if choose to. I know, there's a move to track, but it scares me like a delete button.

Do you have track 1 locked?

Let me clarify.  Are you trying to change tracks, or simply get it out of a group under another group?

I've got to run, but if you are just trying to get it out of a sub group under another group, if nothing else, just degroup it and the parent group.  then re-group as desired.

Not change tracks, just get it out of a group under another like you said.

And since I'm already in track #1, I assume it won't let me see the it.

Thanks Jim. I will try that.

Try just right clicking and drag it out.

Yeah!
Was beginning to think you haven't had enough to drink to be sequencing properly.

I know right? Something that simple stumped a veteran. You can bet I opened a beer after that little stunt. Lol

I have never put a group inside of a group and when I tried to move it the first time, it didn't work. Lack of beer obviously. ?

Oh man. On track 2, have every group can think of with groups in the groups.
Example:
Have the obvious mega tree group with the super-strands you taught me; RWB-G. So inside of that group, I made a red strand group, a white strand group, ect.. I also use that on my bushes & globes, ect.
Then made a Red Group, with the red mega tree group, red bush group, red globe group.
Repeated for other colors.
Want only all red on?
Open the red group.

But as George taught me, moving groups are only & always on track 2, so as not to screw with my master track..

Then, whatever group I'm working on, drag it to the top to see beat marks & time scale, etc.

Even have my candy cane spinners in multiple groups. Reversed the channel order on spinner B. Then copy A and paste = spin towards each other.
Limitless when group within groups thinking takes over.

My problem is what to do with it all. Creative blocks coupled with my already sucky sequencing can really slow me down.

Bummer. Now I need more to drink..
