Expo 2017 - What's Important : FOOD!

LOR Staff

Recommended Posts

Time to start talking turkey, or should I say "Hot Chicken", for our time in Nashville/Lebanon TN this year for Christmas Expo!

If you are from the area, I would love to hear about your favorite places to eat.  Just remember the rules:

  • Local Independent places are preferred.  Small Regional Chains are OK.  Even large chains are OK as long as they are not national.  I can get Chili's anywhere, but not In-N-Out :P.
  • Preferably local food.  I know for sure I will want to sample some Hot Chicken.

So, what do you recommend?

I know for sure I'll be hitting up https://www.facebook.com/gracedininglebanon/ for some hot chicken for sure.  They look like they are right up the street.

This looks like something to try:  https://www.facebook.com/sammybstn/?ref=page_internal

Maybe this: http://www.martinsbbqjoint.com/

You'll have to try some fried chicken feet! It's a Southern thing. My friend at Fort Drum asked me to take him some fresh chicken feet back home, the problem is he nor his wife could cook them like his mother,

I have yet to eat any but my wife like the Asian fried chicken feet. They eat between the toes cartilidge. Id starve to death. I get more meet from a crawfish.

I definitely want to try Martins! Looks real good. Hope to get some real deal BBQ while in Nashville. I loved Corkey's in Pigeon Forge back in 2013! I don't think they have a location in Nashville though. :(

Hope to have a chance to talk to you during the Expo Developer Mike.

Later,

So hot chicken definitely gets a big thumbs up.  Delicious.  Crunchy.  Dry heat (cayenne) vs Buffalo style (hot sauce).  Will eat again.

I also saw a White Castle.  Can't get them around me, so I see a 6 pack in my future - and don't you dare try to tell me Krystal is just as good ?

Hey DevMike,

Martin's was delicious too! My wife and I went to the one in Mount Juliet this evening after the Expo. I had the "whole hog" platter and it was very good. My wife had a very loaded baked potato with pulled chicken and BBQ sauce on it. MMmm

We did end up going to Demos for an LOR staff dinner.  Very good!

Also ate at the blue moon BBQ twice (they were in the expo hall).  Enjoyed the brisket.
