This came up in another thread and not to steal anyone's thunder TheDucks told me to go for it.

Since this is Military appreciation month let me start by saying Thank you to all that have served and those that are still serving. Less than 2% of our population have served.

Please keep it unclass and to the point. As for lights I do both a Military and First Responder display for the 4th of July.

U.S. Air Force - 84 to 90

Oklahoma Air National Guard - 90 to 2010

And thank you to all veterans, folks still serving and their families of both groups.

First of all, I big thank you for all of you who have served.  For me, I was attempting to get an appointment to Annapolis in the mid 70's, but my eyes got bad enough that I would have failed the physical when I was in 10th grade.  Then talked seriously with a Navy recruiter in 12th grade, but ultimately did not go that route.  I have often wondered how my life would have been different if I had joined the Navy.

It is in my blood a bit.  My dad made 26 trips across the Atlantic as crew of a troop transport ship (read that as un-escorted, high value target) in the Coast Guard during the latter portion of WW2, and then the Navy reserve after the war.  Got called up for two tours on a destroyer during Korea.
