seq for eyes open and eyes closed on singing faces

I have been trying to figure out which is the best way to do the eyes open/eyes closed for singing faces..

I dont want to flashy but should the bottom/ eyes closed be on all the time when the eyes are not set as open( top part on)

I have HC Coro trees and just completed assembly of one to test my some sequences I have and am not real happy with them....

I also saw that I do need to make some other changes to a few things to make it look better then it did in the visualizer.

I am not sure how the yeyes should be... both kinda flash or on between each other or what...

I dont think they have to or need to be timed with the music as that would be to flashy I think...

Advice and recommendations are wanted..

Thanks..

I just randomly have my trees "blink" their eyes every once in awhile...just like a normal person would do..so mainly open all the time

Open up the file that I sent you a link for and take a look. I keep the lower part of the eye tied with the outline. Then I randomly blink the upper part. As well as having the upper eyes off with a prolonged o sound in a song. I listen to the song and imagine myself singing.

Cool... Thanks to both of you ... Both were a big help.. I had both just kinda random on and off but very seldom on at the same time. Both were kinds between each other bur more randomly then timed with the music..

Thanks... both are good... I think just mainly as long as both arent on at the same time..

I just got my HC tree faces today, got one put together and was checking out a few of the sequences and saw they didn't look as well as they did when just on my Vis file... so making some changes on almost all of them that I have..

I was just messing around with this yesterday. I finally settled on having bottom on , then the top fade down to off and as it starts to fade up , I flash the bottom off and right back on to give it the look of blinking . Seems pretty good on the visualizer . I just got the lights on my first tree and haven't plugged it into controller yet . Like the idea of closed during singing long notes too , good idea , Ebuechner. Although the kids probably could care less , I'm trying to make it look good .

I haven't done anything with it yet, but I thought it might be a good use for sub sequence.  Just turn on the sub sequence when you want the prop lit and the sub sequence would control everything except the mouth.  You could build in an eye blink periodically into the sub sequence.

I have just recently combined the bottom eye (Eyes closed) channel to the outline channel. Eye open (eye top) is used for blinking the eyes. I don't use just the outline on like some do. When the face comes on in my show it is either smiling or singing. That leaves me an extra channel to use for a 6th mouth position. I still want to use just 8 channels per face. With the extra channel I have added a straight mouth position that will help make the M, B and P sounds look more real. The 5 mouth positions are very limiting to me. 6 is Better 10 is best. I want the faces to look as if they are really singing not just lips flapping to words. I am still doing tests with Papagayo with the 6 positions and I'm liking what I see. I'll post some video as soon as I get a screen capture program loaded into my new computer.

Does any one have an lpf or lff for the holiday coro singing trees that they'd like to share that I can use in my visualizer?

In my singing faces I have Open Eye = Full Circle, Closed Eye = Single Line across the middle. Like others offered, at times in my sequencing if nothing else is going on I just close one eye or the other for a short period, like a blink. Seems to work ok. You really can't go wrong. It is a great part of any show.

On my singing trees I basically leave the botton of the eyes on and turn the top off randomly throughout the song. I've also added 15 pixels randomly spaced around the tree.  I call them ornaments.  then using the outline of the tree and the pixels I can use the singing trees in a non-singing capacity.  I'm adding a 5th singing tree this year.  (My granddaughter said my Pentatonix sequences were not right since Pentatonix has 5 members).  anyway.  in the video below you can see the ornaments and how they are used.

....(My granddaughter said my Pentatonix sequences were not right since Pentatonix has 5 members)....

Great job with the entire trees, not just the eyes. Loved the pixels as ornaments. Will have to keep that in mind if I do trees next year.

At my house, granddaughter rules. I'm sure at yours too. So good luck getting the 5th tree to look good with your existing sequences...
