Halloween Videos 2014

Hello All....

Was able to secure a new location this year for my personal display. Been sooo busy that I wasn't going to have one (due to time), but wife pushed me. So started about 30-35 days ago. Nothing built and no sequencing.

I measured the house, cut all the strips to size and had my brother-in-law build the strips and ext cables for me. Took a couple weeks off work and the homeowner and myself installed all in about a week and half. I had no sequencing done to fit the new location. I used several previous songs so had to modify lot, specifically the house itself.....completely different than mine. The new songs I had nothing.

I program the face movements for both videos in the back of a vehicle while my wife drove from our home in Riverside to San Luis Obipso for a 1 day turn-around trip. I was off and she was going to do that 5hr drive by herself. I figure I could keep here company and sequence at the same time. Got to stop at the beach too :-)

I'm working on another song and should be done this week. These are not your traditional Halloween song by any means (typical of me)....I have plenty of those and use them in the show too.

Wow! If that's the kind of work you do in a rush, i'd like to see what you can do with some free time. Great videos!

Ok...I did not expect singers on the garage door. That was a surprise move. (I didn't cheat and scroll down. I just hit play on the first video so that was how I was surprised).

Great job as always. It is definitely great to see your work again.

Wonderful use of colors on magic's rude. And all without superstar?

So how long before you get shut down again? Dang news truck.

Fireball - amazing.  Very nice keeping the motion color/zones uniform over the face of the house - takin' it down and bringing it back - even with partial faces!!  Very creative.

Thanks Jay...i did like that takin it down - bringing it back part.

Kevin, just saw your show on Good Morning America this Morning. The word of the morning is Viral.  B)

Hey thanks for the heads up. I was able to catch the west coast feed.

They were staying how my elect bill must be high....not true at all. With 95% led and the house has solar panels....likely is free.

as always, great work Kevin!!  are those the same singing faces?  they look like LED cool white rope lights and larger.

They are the same size....same frame, just changed to led cool white. The main face up top is 8'x8'....the rest are 6'x6'.

Kevin, Those faces look great in the Cool white. I have been thinking about converting my singing pumpkin faces to RGB using CMB24 with dumb Strips. Of course you would get the Business, :)  What do you think would work better Pixels or Strips? I was just wondering your thoughts on this.

Don't really see any benefit to have the faces in smart pixels unless you going to do some type of face explosion effect or wipe out instead of fade out. I left mine single color because I didn't see a need to change the face colors at this time. Would be a nice option but not right now for me.

A guy just can't get a break!!!

I was permanently shut down again tonight. This time by the police. We had about 1000 people show up nightly. The show was directly across from a large park. Plenty of parking and seating area. We had no problem other than traffic. I will post some pics tomorrow. It was a great run while it lasted....but I think I'm done with residential displays. :-(

I hate that for you Kevin.

The police shut me down in 2011 for the same reason. Too many cars coming in on my block.

I got with the city council and the police department right after that and worked out a plan with them.

I had the police monitor and direct in 2012 and 2013 and it worked out fine.

Something to think about.
