LOR Staff Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 We are currently aware of, and have fixed for the next release, an issue with some very limited sequences and how they generate LCCs and other lists of channels. The conditions that come up that cause the error are very rare. In fact, we only know of one person who has experienced the issue. If this turns out to be caused by the same issue, you would be #2. Unfortunately there is no work around at this time, except creating a new LCC by hand. Be aware however that if you attempt to then update that sequence with the new LCC you may be inadvertently making changes you don't want. Also, as Don said you should be aware that some channels will not be shown depending on what kind of reference channel you need. For RGB fixtures, only RGB channels will be shown. For non-RGB fixtures, you will see both regular and the constituent RGB channels. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jimswinder Posted September 1, 2014 Author Share Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Hmmm...guess my response did not post earlier...anyway, regular channels and I do not see them in the drop down menu when using the wizard to assign channels to a new prop/fixture...only the first approximately 150 channels are listed...not the whole approximately 200 in my channel config that I uploaded to the visualizer.Mike...would it help if I emailed you my channel config or anything else?Have you found if it matters where the channel config was created? Is there any way to delete a loaded Reference File in the Viz so when you load another file they don't merge but you just have the last file you loaded? To expand on the situation...I use two computers..a laptop and desktop. I use the laptop downstairs and connect to my desktop via my wireless. I keep all my LOR files on the desktop, which when using my laptop I access them thru Windows NETWORK. When using my laptop, I have missing files...when I go upstairs and use the desktop, all the channels load into the Visualizer..so I would imagine this is not a LOR problem...right? LOR Staff Posted September 2, 2014 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Hmmm... That would tell me you are probably not looking at the same file in both places. Be absolutely SURE that the file you are opening across the network is the exact same one (in the EXACT same folder) as the one on the local machine. I can't tell you how many times I thought I was working on a particular file, but it turned out I was working on the correct file name, but in the wrong directory. If you are unsure, go down to the local machine and then rename the LCC file to something you know will be unique. Then go back upstairs and try to load the LCC. Select this new unique named file and see then if everything is there. If you can't find the renamed file (or do find the OLD file name), you are in the wrong directory. k6ccc Posted September 2, 2014 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Glad you got it worked out. I do something similar with multiple computers, and what I do seems to work (and it's easy). In my case, all LOR files are kept on my file server in a shared directory at D:\Light-O-Rama. On both my show computer and my desktop where I normally sequence, there is a mapped network drive called L: (I made it easy for me). On both computers, as soon as my account (or the LOR Show account in the case of the show computer) logs onto the computer, the network drive mapping is made. Therefore, any change I make from either computer will be saved on the file server. In case anyone is wondering about the potential disadvantage to having the show files located on a different computer than the show computer, yes, this does mean that if I reboot the server during a show, the drive mapping gets messed up and it's hosed. However, I know better than that! Having it on the server does have the advantage that it's using redundant hard drives that are backed up off-site regularly.
