Phippers Posted October 30, 2013 Share Posted October 30, 2013 This year I have added 6 moving head intelligent lights, and was curious if there is anything that is out there that will communicate with The Sequencer/Visualizer that can help in programming the movement via DMX. Right now my plan is to just make notes as I'm programming, and then when I put my computer in the street for final testing, and syncing up the water gysers, I can also Do the movement then. Phippers Posted November 16, 2013 Author Share Posted November 16, 2013 Checked out your links, Great Information. i especially like the "FILL" comment you made:"Use the Hardware Utility to position the lights where you want them and write the DMX or channel values down for all the points you want to hit.Then in S3, set your starting values and ending values only; use the Fill option and click in between them. It will cause a smooth movement.Set your additional values and Fill between them also." I do have the Advanced license, and have been using DMX RGB lights the past few years. I actually was able to pull a DMX signal off of the RJ485 adapter directly, and then soldered an xlr connector on, and was able to control it with no DMX driver. Works great! Got some noise in the lines, so I bought this fancy controller to fix that --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/171122672906?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I think I'm running 16 par cans, and 8 bars (The bars are over the lake to light the fountains) This year, I got a cheaper knock off of Blizzards FlurryQ's, and grabbed 6 of them. Been playing with them with my Stage Lighting software, and they are Amazing! Super light, well built, and bright as all getup. I did already mark down the values for most of the positions I want, and then I will fine tune them when i do my "In Street" testing. I'm very excited, and would love to see some of your videos with the lights. I was looking into enclosures, and dang they are costly. I'm thinking of making some custom enclosures with this around the head of the light. ANY IDEAS??!!! THanks in advance! No visualizers yet in LOR for that type of light, but there are some out there that will work off the DMX signal and they're $300+ for one copy.
