bob
We have just released version 3.9.0 of the Light-O-Rama Software Suite. Before getting into the details, though, one important note:One of the changes in this release was a bug fix for a recently discovered memory leak which could have an adverse effect upon your shows (and possibly at other times too). This bug was not just in version 3.8.0, but also in versions 3.5.0, 3.6.0, and 3.7.0. We considered this bug to be important enough that in addition to releasing version 3.9.0, we are also releasing versions 3.5.2, 3.6.2, 3.7.2, and 3.8.2. As opposed to 3.9.0 (which includes several changes, one of which is this fix), each of those releases contain only this fix.Why would you use 3.5.2, 3.6.2, 3.7.2 or 3.8.2 instead of 3.9.0? One reason would be if your license does not cover version 3.9.0. You could purchase a license renewal, and then start using 3.9.0, but we thought this bug was important enough that the fix for it should be offered for free to anyone affected by it (including those people whose licenses do not cover version 3.9.0).So, for example, if your license covers up to version 3.6, and you do not want to purchase a license renewal so as to get 3.9.0, we suggest downloading version 3.6.2. Version 3.6.2 (for example) is the same as version 3.6.0, except that it also includes the fix for this bug.You can tell what version your license supports by going to our license retrieval page, entering the email address you used to purchase your license, and clicking "Retrieve". An email should then be sent to you soon thereafter, with information about your license. Look for the "Max Version"; if it says (for example) "3.6", that means that your license covers not just 3.6.0, but also 3.6.2, and in fact any "3.6.anything" that we may eventually wind up creating. If your "Max Version" says "3.4", or anything lower than that, then your software is unaffected by this bug. Now, with all that said, here's a brief list of the changes in version 3.9.0 (more details for each can be found on the help file's What's New page):Comm speed changesHardware Utility support for two networks in G3 MP3 DirectorsHardware Utility support for 500K speed in G3 MP3 DirectorsIncreased range of allowable sequencing grid lengths in imported visualizationsNew functions added in SuperStar dialogsWarning for channels needing a higher license levelVerifier can be used on a single show or a single sequenceNew CCB/CCP firmware: Version 1.15New CCR firmware: Version 1.10New CTB32LG3/LOR160xWG3 firmware: Version 1.08New CTB16PCG3 firmware: Version 1.05New G3-MP3-Director Firmware: Version 5.22Bug fixesYou can download any of these new releases from the software download page (if that page doesn't say that the latest version is 3.9.0, please click your browser's "Refresh" button).
