  1. I updated each of mine over the network without any issues. Took less than 30 minutes to do all 12.
  2. When I built my 12 ribbon CCR tree 3 years ago, 500K was not available. When I ran my sequences I experienced a lot of lag, particularly during complex/busy sequences . Running at 115K, I split up the ribbons onto 2 networks and it fixed the problem. I had to upgrade the firmware on my CCR's in order to run at 500K (when it became available), you might look into that as well. Frank
  3. At the end of the year I unassembled the tree and wrap each pole with ribbons in bubble wrap. It gets stored on top of some shelves I have in the garage. See picture. I just bought a box of bubble wrap and cut it in the lengths I needed. Then used rubber bands to hold them in place. That way I can use it year after year. http://lightshow.franktronics.net/wp-content/gallery/building-the-12-ribbon-rgb-pixel-tree-with-6-channel-star/IMG_20130807_112330_8021.jpg
  4. Hi Tom, I would go with the zip ties. That's what I did 4 years ago and they are still holding. The trick with longevity of ribbons is to put them in place and never move them. Velcro makes me think you would consider removing the ribbons at some time, they won't last long if you do that. I still have the original ribbons on my CCR tree without ever having a bad pixel. Another option you might consider is silicon. I put my roofline ribbons on 4 years ago with silicon and they are still holding too. They also are on the aluminum tubing. This tubing/ribbons has been exposed to the weather and sun for over 4 year, running 24 hours a day. Check out my web-site photo gallery to see what they look like. Frank
  5. Hi James, Could I get a copy too? thanks frank at franktronics dot com
  6. My CCR tree goes up this week. If anyone needs any detailed pictures of anything, let me know and I'll post them.
  7. 1) Yes, the bolt is left with the tubing, a nut and washing holding it in place. This will be year 4 for my tree and not one of the bolts have worked out yet. 2a) Having a single power supply unit keeps me from having to mount the 6 transforms that come with the CCR's. It's a much cleaner and easier to maintain system. 2b) My strips are mounted with the connectors at the bottom. Each of my controllers are mount just to the left and right of center. Therefor I didn't need to change the length of the lines coming from the strips. My controller boxes are mounted to the wall just a couple of feet behind the CCR tree. 3) The two outside poles of the tree actually mount to the BACK of my star. http://lightshow.franktronics.net/?attachment_id=714
  8. Here is the new Radioshack link for the power connectors: http://www.radioshack.com/size-m-coaxial-dc-power-plug-2-pack/2741569.html Yes, the junction box is 12x12 and is 6 inches deep. I got it at home depot, but I've seen them at Lowes too. However I can't find it on their website.
  9. Just put all of my CCR tree sequences on sale for 2015 http://lightshow.franktronics.net
  10. I sequenced Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygen2 about 6 years ago. Didn't end up using it in any of my shows. Your welcome to what I did sequence. http://lightshow.franktronics.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/OXYGEN2.zip
  11. I have 3 boxes, each with a 12volt 30 amp PS in it. It's coming up on 3 years now and they have been running 24/7. They run all the roof line Pixels lights that I have running year round.
  12. Great pictures Larry, thanks for posting them. I like the use of the wing-nuts, good idea.
  13. I have a few 12 ribbons sequences on my website. http://lightshow.franktronics.net
  14. I'll check it out
  15. Yes, the CTB16PC controller will power the ELL's, no problem. I do it all the time. I've run two devices (mini-director and ELL) off of one CTB16PC. Haven't tried any more than that.
