  1. Currently using standard LOR controllers but wanted to expand show and add an RGB tree. Bought the kit during the sale so I have the Pixie16 controller ready to go and the 16/50 pixels strips. My question - Is there a way to just run some test patterns through the RGB pixels so I can see what they look like? Or do I have to go through the setup and add it to my network? Thanks -
  2. Thanks Alan for the follow up. My fault my question wasn't clear. I was actually talking about adding power injection to the pixel strings. I would hope that the Pixel16 box was built to run the 16x50 strings without it or it would have said something about it right? I'm sure it's good - just me being over engineering as usual!
  3. Thanks Alan - this is good advise - I definitely will use Excel to keep track!
  4. Ok so now I don't feel so overwhelmed by everything - I appreciate all the feedback. Last question - Do I need to worry about power for this setup? On LOR website they said it was basically plug and play but other things I read about RGB say they sometimes need additional power. Thanks
  5. Thanks everyone for your help! 😀 Now I have a much better understanding of how things should work. Will setup the Pixie on its own - with the USB485-HS adapter. Two final questions - 1) I checked all my controllers and 1 is a standard CTB16PC and the others are Gen 3 - Will it hurt anything to have them all on the same network or should I put them on their own also? All lights they will be driving are LED. 2) May add some RGB arches - would they require another adapter and network or could I add them to the Pixie16 network? Thanks again for everyone's help!

  7. Ok so i think I'm going to try and set this controller up on my LOR network so I can create some test sequences. My question is this - I have some CTB16PC controllers running right now and bought some new ones recently. Now I have the Pixie16. In reading the instructions it sounds like I need to set up different networks. How do I know if I need to? I know it has something to do with ELOR but how do I know if my controllers will run it?
  8. New to LOR this year - first successful season with just one contoller / 16 channels but everyone loved it! Have about 2000 led lghts but would like to add some more for next year. Like the look of RGB and thinking about adding a 10' tree - also thought about switching the led lights along the outline of my house to RGB. Have been reading a lot and I feel like I'm getting myself more confused with it! :-) What I'm really concerned about is power consumption so my question is this - if I replaced my current led (mostly C9 & C7 type) with RGB pixels how much more power would my display use? When I was using incandescents it would flip the breaker sometimes. Hasn't happened since I changed to LEDs and I've added more lights each year. Before I spend the money I'd like to get some more information from the experts here. Thanks, CambellHouse
  9. Thanks Jerrymac - I have at least figured that much out. So on one of the E1.31 how many pixels would it typically handle. And this whole power injection thing has me confused. Plus all the different kinds of RGBs - 💥
  10. Thanks TheDucks for your advise. Will pick one up. Breakers are good - newer ones.
  11. So I have a question - and maybe I missed this somewhere. Would this also play the music through their phone? Or do you still need a speaker/FM transmitter?
  12. Roverdish - Could you please send - Thanks chesterlcampbell@gmail.com
  13. Slim00209 - Do you have the FTP site you got this from? Thanks chesterlcampbell@gmail.com
  14. Hey slim00209 - Could you share the 16 channel that you have. Question - do you have a star on top? If so is it plugged into another controller or to just one of the strands? chesterlcampbell@gmail.com Thanks
  15. Hi James - Could I get a copy if you are still sharing? chesterlcampbell@gmail.com Thanks
  16. Hey Bill P - Newbie to the obsession! Would appreciate anything you're willing to share. chesterlcampbell@gmail.com Thanks
  17. Hey Septon - Newbie with only 16 channels this year. Could you share? chesterlcampbell@gmail.com
  18. Hey Old Sarge - Newbie so I would love it if you could share. chesterlcampbell@gmail.com Thanks Hoorah
  19. Have had Christmas displays for a long time but finally trying to take up a notch with my first LOR controller. Want to add some mini trees (42" tomato cages) to my display and wondering what type and how many lights people have found work best. Will be buying LEDs - most of my lights are LED now so I'd like to stick with them. Any advise is greatly appreciated!
  20. Thanks everyone for all the advise - I believe I know what I'm going to do. Would love to have multiple channels for each so I could have different colors or have RGBs but unfortunately I'm just getting started and only have 16 channels to work with and many other lights I want to incorporate into the controller as part of the display - so for this year my mini trees will just have to be a single color. Will try to upload video once I get it setup just so I can get some more advise how I can improve. Wife was just shaking her head when orders arrived!! But I know she'll love it after it's done.
