  1. I just saw this post. Mike has a million things to do, and doesn't always know the exact things going on the background. That isn't a slam/put down/smack down or anything else negative toward him. If you take it as such .. then check your ego at the door, please. The edit functions do vary on the forum based on the behaviors of the members. Admins can see all edits made. If we see that people are changing their posts in attempts to 'frame' other people into looking bad .. then we reduce the edit times to mitigate the issue. Time is allotted for corrections to be made to posts. However, the ability to 'Update' a posts hours/days/weeks/months later will require the assistance of an Admin. Sucks, yes. Not fun, I know. Anything else negative you can think of ... I know. However, there are some people (and I'm not suggesting anyone here) who will change things days/weeks later. In order to keep that from happening, edits are limited.
  2. I have a hunch that the official LOR Facebook page will be updated with Sales information when it comes out as well. http://www.facebook.com/lightorama
  3. Please refrain from starting duplicate threads.
  4. Please refrain from starting duplicate threads.
  5. No changes made that I'm aware of.
  6. People here are looking for 16 channel sequences because they want to start with something simple. They are all smart enough to know that you can edit larger ones down, etc. Let's avoid cluttering the thread with everything else, and let them share simple 16 channel sequences without getting a lecture about it.
  7. Please using original thread: http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/42335-cf50-flood-problem/
  8. Summer Sale is now on. See link at top of page, or in Important Announcements forum. Or check your email. Or see the FB Page. Comments/Questions for LOR? Post'em here.
  9. Thread/Post merged into one.
  10. Questions about the LOR Pixel Editor? This is the place to ask. Just a few notes about using the Light-O-Rama Forums: 1. Any sales questions or order status inquiries for products should be directed to the LOR help desk. You can also call 518-539-9000 during normal business hours. 2. This forum is monitored by Light-O-Rama personnel. 3. You always have the option of contacting LOR support. A support ticket can be filled out at http://lightorama.com/support. 4. Don't forget the http://www.lightorama.com website. It's a wealth of knowledge. 5. Take a hint from the experts: crawl, walk, run. Don't wait until the last minute to start work on your Light-O-Rama project. 6. The Light-O-Rama forums are a place for everyone, newcomers and old-timers alike, to come together and help each other out with Light-O-Rama related issues. Please remember that what may be obvious to you may not be obvious to someone else. If you have an issue with a member, we ask that you address that issue via Private Message (PM) and not engage in name calling, etc., on the public forums. These types of messages do not help anyone. [Admin Note: Posting/Reposting this under the correct account. Some database work months ago caused these to end up under the wrong name.]
  11. [Originally posted by Matt Brown. Reposted due to database work months ago.] Looking for help using the Pixel Editor? There are slides here: http://www1.lightorama.com/PDF/LOR-PixelEditorIntroduction.pdf and a video which covers much of the same material here: http://youtu.be/5unIkAJjauU Also, the Pixel Editor is installed with a help file, just like the rest of the programs that make up the Light-O-Rama Software Suite. So select Help > Contents from the Pixel Editor menu and dig in. And if you are still stuck, post here. We are here to help! Matt Brown

  13. (Thread merged. Please avoid dups when possible)
  14. That would be it. The maintenance will be going on a while. Hopefully the profile deal is just a short term thing while they are working on that section.
  15. The service provider is doing some behind the scenes maintenance on the forums database, and may have certain features of the forums offline at various times during this event. Currently unknown how long the maintenance will be going on, but it is needed for the long term viability of the current forum infrastructure.
  16. Sorry, being nit-picky here. Let's not 'suggest' things that in many locations would be illegal.
  17. The Coffee Shop is is place to have generic talks about decorating. We want to try and keep the our focus on decorating, things you have seen or heard of and would like to share. 18. What is the 'Blue Book' value? Honestly, it's whatever people will pay. Just that simple. When someone advertises a controller here in the forums though, many members will point out the new vs used price to potential customers. They are not prompted by LOR to do so, and if LOR tried to stop them from saying anything people would be upset. (Just like they seem to be upset when LOR let's people speak their mind.) Caniac is correct, there is nothing wrong warning people to be careful about the purchases of used equipment. There have been people who have been burned by used controller sales, and the community tends to look out for people. (Yes, people have differences, but in reality, it's a good group of people here that look out for newbies and old timers alike.) Pick a vendor, pick an industry. If you buy something used (or "pre-owned" as the car dealers like to say) then something *could* go wrong. What matters is who you buy from, and what reputation they have. LOR isn't going to say that "Mr/Mrs X" is a bad seller and to stay away from them. Yes, there are 'approved' vendors, but even with those (and the LOR Partners) you should use caution when purchasing from them. There is no fear mongering going on. In this case people are letting a potential new person (based on the number of posts) that they should use caution when buying used equipment. No, the number of posts isn't a fair indicator of how new/old a person is to the hobby, but people looked out for him/her just the same.
  19. Could you clarify this? Fear mongering is defined as, "the action of deliberately arousing public fear or alarm about a particular issue." I don't see any of that here on this thread. I see people offering solutions to the original question asked. Seems people are also letting people know they should price shop when looking on web sites such as eBay, or other auction type sites. Don't really see the fear mongering. In fact, one could argue you've introduced it here in the thread -- so please refrain from doing that.
  20. Up late, missed it late night, slept late. Sorry.
  21. It's here. Info and discussion here.

  23. Edits are limited to two hours. Gives one time to make corrections to a post as needed, but not change it days, weeks or months later.
  24. Look close. It's already there.
