  4. two controls with the same address????

Well, to be fair, that thread wasn't posted when the OP asked the question. It was added shortly after..
  5. A listing of questions that are frequently asked, and an answer. Question: Can I have two or more controllers with the same address? Answer: This is technically possible. The controllers listen for data that is intended for them. If you had 15 controllers all listening for UnitID 03, then all 15 would respond to commands for 03. Note: Multiple controllers with the same address could make it a little more difficult to troubleshoot issues that may be happening in the display. Example: You are having a problem with Unit 03, but which Unit 03? When you pull up the Hardware Editor, you are going to have two 03's in there. Question: Why does my second generation Pixie controller keep resetting to ID 01? Answer: The second generation Pixie controllers have DIP Switches that can be used to set the address. Please see the product documentation to see how the address is set for your device. You can use either the Hardware Utility OR the Dip Switches. Question: Do I have to connect the controllers in numerical order? Answer: The controllers to NOT have to be connected in numerical order. You may connect the controllers in any order you wish within a specific network. (What is a Network? FAQ to come.)
  6. Backup your sequences! If you are new to Light-O-Rama you may not be aware how much time goes into creating your sequences. However as time goes on you start to realize that it can take a lot of time. One thing you should do is make frequent backup of your sequences. This save you an enormous amount of time should you run into problems. Please note: It is best to save a copy of your work on a different computer. If your computer is lost, stolen or just dies, any backups stored on that same machine would be lost to. There are several ways to backup your sequences. Each of them will have their advantages and disadvantages, but each of them will save you time. Here are just some backup methods. 1) Copy the files to a flash drive or SD card. 2) Copy the files to another computer in the house. 3) Use a backup program (Crashplan, Mozy, etc.) to backup your sequences off site. 4) Use a file synchronization program (dropbox.com, etc.) to have a copy of your sequences saved 'in the cloud.' 5) Copy the files to a CD every night. Remember: You should save the sequence files and the audio files. It might not be a bad idea to backup your entire LOR data directory. This is *usually* in the "Light-O-Rama" folder within your "My Documents" directory.
  7. HELP

FYI - "HELP" posted multiple times in multiple forums won't magically make people suddenly have extra time to contact you right away. It's the busy time of year for everyone, so post once, describe the problem, and wait for someone to be able to help.
  8. Welcome to the Sequence Sharing forum. There are plenty of people here who are willing to share their sequences with you. Before you post a message asking people to send you their sequences, please take a look at the messages already here on the forum. Chances are you will find someone who is willing to share their sequence with you right now. Of course if you have a special request, or something else out of the ordinary, then by all means post away. Please note: The purpose of this post isn't to shame anyone from posting a request for sequences. It's only posted to point out that there are sequences available for you, today! You just need to read the current posts here in this forum to find them.
  9. [Admin Note] Threads merged and moved to The Coffee Shop. Multiple threads on same topic are not needed.
  10. Looking at FM Transmitters

    Start here:
  11. Ignore Functionality

A quick history in the Ignore Feature that has been talked about the past few days, and what it actually does. What seems like 1049 days ago, someone started a thread that quickly went 'viral' on the forum. People were somewhat annoyed by constantly seeing it in their 'recent' activity. After some back and forth functionality was added to the forum to ignore individual threads. This functionality is different than the user ignore feature built into the software. It was never designed, nor never used for, ignoring entire forums. There are features that are standard to the forums that will allow you to filter those would of your recent activity feeds. The ignore thread functionality is active in The Coffee Shop and Sequence Sharing. There are no plans to expand it's use to other forums. If you don't see an 'Ignore' button when are viewing a thread, then please let me know via PM.
  12. Two Factor Authentication

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I'm going to put it out there for everyone. The forum software now has the ability to add two factor authentication (TFA) to the login process. If you don't know what TFA is, then go look it up. For those who do know what it is, or those who researched it, a question for you. Shall it be optional or required? I'm betting the majority is going to go with optional, but I thought I'd put it out the for people to choose. Poll open until 8/9.

  17. The Busy Season Is Approaching

Hello Newbies! Welcome to the Light-O-Rama forums. As you no doubt have learned by now there are many experienced people here willing and able to assist you with your Light-O-Rama questions (and more.) However, as time marches toward late November, when most Christmas displays go live, their time will become scarce as they work on their own display. Have a question? Go ahead and ask! However if a response takes a little longer than you think it should please keep in mind that nobody here gets paid. Someone will get an answer to you just as soon as they can.

  20. New look?

My user account sees it there as well. Will have to look into it later.
  21. New look?

Your account is in the same user group as my "user" account .. and I see it on that account. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilhh1og1t2axorw/lor-forums-ingore-button.PNG?dl=0
  22. New look?

Any settings that were there should still be there. No changes would have (should have) been made, just the software upgrade. (Along with whatever new things it threw in there.)
  23. New look?

Yep.. Upgrades will do that. There is a "Dismiss" option up on the profile. Will look at the admin side later today..
  24. New look?

    Field updated.
